Brief description of the issue:

Seems like aircraft doesn’t properly reset when you land and go on to do a turnaround/multileg flights and as a result, various settings and values wont work like it does when it’s a new session i.e QHN wont set, runway length wont set, “confirm T/O data” wont work…

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Basically, do any turn around/multileg flight

Yup it’s rubbish the ground handing is terrible, it flies like a bread van and can’t pull the skin off a custard. Good luck finding a position where you can see anything useful too. I’m done with it for a while, it’s way too skittish and wont heel. Lets see 787, can’t use that either its a mess on touchdown, so glad I got the premium edition, fly the bus into one of my add on airports, can’t, avionics still die… GTA 5 then…

Try closing all doors and see if that works. It did in the previous version.

I can’t be sure if this is directly related, but it does happen when doing a turnaround. After the engines has been stopped, there is no way getting them back running again.

ATR 72 and ATR 42

Brief description of the issue:

If you try and do a return flight or do a “turn around” where you do not restart the sim - Some functions within the aircraft stop working.

  1. You can’t confirm T/O (Take Off) Data - Only works on the 1st flight
  2. You can’t enter or delete a new figure in the Reserve Fuel section on the weights page
  3. On the POS Init page if you try and enter the new GPS POS for the airport you are now at - It > flashes in the “INIT POS” field but then doesn’t actually save it.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Complete a normal flight in the ATR, land and turn the engines off and put ground power on. Then try and setup for a new flight without restarting the sim and you should be able to easily reproduce these.

ATR72 (assume same issue in ATR42)

Brief description of the issue:

Complete a first flight, park, go into hotel mode, attempt to create a new flight route for a 2nd leg, perhaps returning to the place you came from. Cannot change cruise FL to a lower altitude, nor alter once changed to even the same. Example, I just did a flight from VRMG to VRMM in the Maldives. Initial flight was at FL170. I wanted to return to VRMG at FL130, but I could not set the cruise altitude to FL130. Or any other number below FL170. Further, if I enter FL180, I cannot revert it to FL170 thereafter. Believe actually the cruise should be reset to zero regardless for a new fpln.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

None needed

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

As described in issue description. Do a flight from A to B in FMS at a reasonable cruise level. Land, park, and then create a new flight plan to C from B. Attempt to set cruise to any altitude lower than the first leg cruise level.

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

Not relevant.

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

This has always occurred, but previously, were more bugs in doing a 2nd leg.

Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

like the other users said. After finishing the first flight, several FMS inputs won’t work for the second leg. One can’t change the cruising altitude to a lower FL for example. Therefore it is not possible to fly several legs with the plane without restarting the whole flight from the main menu.

ATR72-600

Brief description of the issue:

Indicator of the “V-FP” does not disappear at the conclusion of the flight, even pressing the button "STBY and continues even putting a new route in the FMC.

Press “APP” on approach by RNAV. When you press it, the V-FP Profile mode will be activated. The flight is expected to be completed with the V-FP active until the runway clears.

same problem i’v just had … its a shame theres still so many little niggling bugs with this aircraft because it could be one of my favorite but its just not enjoyable to fly

There are a lot of these bugs whereby the aircraft does not reset itself, some I’ve noticed:

GPS POS, aircraft weight and cg, speeds cannot be confirmed for takeoff, autopilot modes as above.

Thank you @DmKM3SsIAH and @ChannexJames for collaboration on this topic. in fact, this “V-FP” issue is just the tip of the iceberg! Aircraft does not restart systems after flight, it is as if it was stuck on the previous flight, this is not good.

For example the “approach mode” that if you don’t remember to diselect after the flight, it continues at 170 kts after the cruise. It could have an even more blunt option to completely reset the ATR for the next flight.

There has to be more care when launching the ATR, improves some things, creates other problems or with the same.

Yes

Onec a leg is completed and engines shut down. Import simbrief file and configure flight. Engines will not restart. You need to exit the flight back to main menu and start a new flight to reset all parameters.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Yes, exactly as described above.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

It appears that the vertical AP modes continue to work while the indication remains as V-FP. On the other hand, when initiating an RNAV approach on the subsequent flight (with V-FP continuing to show), the AP commands an extremely steep descent & I have to take over & fly manually.

Still problems in 1.0.36. Some FMS settings like trans altitude can’t be changed during turn around, if the doors are open. V-FP mode does not clear.
