[ATSimulations] Antonov An-2. Work in progress!

So you’re saying someone may have revealed that it’s in an internal beta test right now ahead of release?

Jorg addressed it after the war started, and I would assume MS already straight-up bought the aircraft from the developer, and my impression was Antonov just needed to sign on the dotted line. Jorg said they’d been in contact with people at Antonov and things should be moving forward.

Anyways - we’ll find out in a month.

Not that this is particularly helpful to anyone but someone seems to have received a preview build and posted a first look on YouTube. Seems legit and appears to be a lovely model. All the best to those involved.

“could be”, “we’re close”, “the team is working on it”…

Well, I guess that’s better than a negative response, but when it comes to flight simulation, ‘we’re close’ usually translates to ‘six more weeks of winter’

I really hope we’ll see it eventually, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it ended up launching in summer of 2023.

I am looking forward to this too!

At the moment to be fair there are a whole load of aircraft of medium size upwards that are close, at some point we will get them all at once and not know what to buy!

I don’t mind GA’s, and this sim has ALOT of GA’s now, but I am patiently waiting for the larger aircraft such as this, DC10, MD11, Dash8, 777 etc etc etc

Do not worry about it, it’s coming” sounds nice. In the meantime, we have a nice PZL 104 Wilga to fly. (:

Its been over a year since we got a peak at the AN-2 and since then i haven’t really heard anything about it. So what’s up on the development?

Glad the AN-2 is finally coming!

Raises hand.

The An-2 is one of my favorite planes, mainly because it is really unique, it uses a pneumatic system to start and brake which is great for low temperatures. It can fly at very low speeds and it is almost impossible to stall, in case of engine failure you just stall the plane intentionally and it falls gracefully like a parachute, imagine if this is simulated, it would be terrific.
Slats are automatic and they are just deployed by rubber bands that when the plane is slow enough can no longer contain the slats in place and then they deploy automatically.
It is still in operation by Polar Airlines, hopefully that livery will be included.

ATSimulations Broussard and An-2 were two of my favorite planes in FSX, I can’t wait to have the Antonov back =) (And hopefully the Broussard someday too)

So, this bird is finally here! But why is it designated as a “pack” in the market place, with a “bundle” discount?

If someone manages a manual start-up-sequence, please let me know! The “starter engine” - button does not wants to stay in the left position, so the spin is not spinning…

I did a manual start with no issue.

You need to hold the switch in the spin up position. Then when it has spun up, you move it over to clutch and the engine will start. Provided, of course, all other settings have been performed — fuel, mags, mixture, etc.

Slow is good for sight seeing  Purchased this, looks like good value.

yeah, holding a switch in a certain position is not so typical and english is also not my mother tongue so … it was not totally clear for me
