128 days since the last Dev Stream was held. 128 days since the developers have willingly and on their own accord communicated directly with the community.
There have been hardware and subscription giveaways in the circumnavigation fly-ins, and I would anticipate some announcements to accompany this weekendâs Gamescom. I think those announcements might include the Local Legend and City Update the current roadmap has planned for this month.
Iâm not saying Iâm satisfied with this, but I do wonder if the team âcountsâ the presentation at FSExpo as if it were a dev stream, as it contained much of the same content as those presentations usually do just without the Q&A element.
I understand that perspective. But piggy-backing on an annual event that youâre essentially expected to be at is much different than going out of your way to host your own stream. And you already touched on it, but the FSExpo powerpoint was talking at the community, not with the community. Thereâs no dialogue there, like a Q&A provides.
So I concede - 128 since the last Dev Stream, and 70 days since they last proved they were even alive ![]()
Like I said, Iâm not satisfied by that perspective either and hope for a proper, dedicated Q&A soon ![]()
The decline in engagement is beginning to get very concerning. I mean, if theyâre working on something big so theyâre too busy, then ok, but otherwise, itâs getting more difficult to shake the feeling that the whole project is stagnatingâŠ
Sadly itâs more likely that the nearest thing to happen will be SU6.1 beta
.
Another German city update probably and some obscure German plane
The giveaways during community fly-ins are nice, but those only benefit people whose timezone allows them to participate in realtime. Announcements that may include details about the next City Update and Local Legends are nice, but those were already on the timeline, and are not specific to this âanniversaryâ. Based on last weekâs post, I was expecting a bit more acknowledgement of MSFS 2020 as a platform this week, maybe even some mention of the coming MSFS 2020 SU17 beta. After all, when itâs one kidâs birthday, you do something to make that kid feel special. Instead, the âcelebrationâ so far groups both kids together, and the younger kid is still getting all the âpresentsâ in the way of attention, betas, and sim updates.
Whilst they decide when to do another Q&A one thing that does need to change is the format, Jayne did her best but there were many times she didnât follow up on the questions when they sat there unsure about the question they were asked.
These Q&As need an independent host not affiliated with MS/Asobo, someone who both understands the frustrations of the users and one who can press for clear answers when all we get are âshrugsâ.
Edit: not to mention properly following up on past Q&A responses
And no word said about the completely grounded ps5 community, whose msfs was completely broken with SU6. âŠ
Hoping for one sometime in September!
In the release note of Aircraft and Avionics Update 5 the first topic are bugfixes for the ATR 42-600 / 72-600. And the first point is âChangelist v1.1.40â with the following bullet points:
Which looks like the ATR 42-600 / 72-600 is usable in career mode which it is not. At least not in my installation of the sim. When I look in the marcetplace there is also nothing abaout career mode.
Can anyone clarify whats going on here?
I attach a screenshot from my marcetplace. As I am from germany it is the german version of the game ![]()
It is August, holiday season in France. It is the same every time they release something before a holiday season. So it shall be before xmas too.
Release a SU and duck out for weeks on end with no communication.
I noticed that they often misunderstood the question and we ended up with a great talk about something but the question remained unanswered
No word on whether Microsoft is going to participate in the FSIMUK event in Bristol in October. Thatâs a very short flight from France. I would hope at least a few people would attend that could represent the sim. Any of the moderators going?
German planes and scenery would be a good thing, given that the game is very USA oriented and that can sometimes be pretty annoying for non-USA players
Some focus on the rest of the world is always appreciated
