Sure seems like thereâs little to no effort being put into these updates each week⊠Just my opinion of course, but these seem pretty mailed in to me.
A couple of pics, no development update, a feedback snapshot copy/pasted from June, no SDK update, and no WT/avionics update. I think internally the team needs to decide what the purpose or goal is for these âupdatesâ, because right now it seems like a lot of copy/paste week to week.
Stands to reason folks are deep into the FS2024 effort from now on out to launch. Not that 2020 is unimportant, but there are so many experienced users here that can help out while others are doing what they need to do to present the new sim to us this Fall? Oh yes, and summer vacations for those who might have vacation time left this year? Almost over, summer is!
Agreed. And as VA Systems flooding the new product section weekly
Iâll be honest, for the last 4 months or so, I only check it to see what was released/updated on the Marketplace so I can see if there is anything new I need to check out before loading the sim up.
I find the threads here as well as the Developer Streams more valuable for finding actual updates. I donât mind these posts, but those two work better for me.
Hello @twenty4fan9O,
As we have previously stated, no third party developer can âflood the new product sectionâ. Letâs suppose hypothetically there is a vendor who releases 15 products this week. If those 15 products didnât exist at all, you wouldnât get 15 different products from other developers instead. There would just be 15 fewer products total in the MP that week.
The pace of Marketplace releases is mostly determined by the developers themselves and how long it takes them to test their products and provide sign-off that they are ready for release. More complex products (like Aircraft) generally take longer for their respective developers to test than less complex products (like Missions or Liveries).
Thanks,
MSFS Team
Iâd be fine with less items if it meant no VA systems. You have to scroll & scroll to essentially filter to see if any airports or planes are out youâd like that are cluttered amongst VA
Hello @j0nnyd7,
We provide information about MSFS using a variety of different methods. These include the weekly Development Update blog, the monthly Developer Livestreams, posts on our social platforms, and, of course, threads on the forums here. Different players get their MSFS news from different places (for example, only a small percentage of the total number of MSFS users regularly read these forums, and not everyone watches the livestreams), so we try to reach people in varying ways.
The Development Blog is meant to serve as a roundup of the latest MSFS news from the past week for people who arenât necessarily reading the forums or checking other flight sim news sources every day.
Thanks,
MSFS Team
Hello @twenty4fan9O,
Products released on the Marketplace are for all simmers, each of whom have different interests and varying tastes in add-on products that interest them. While they may not appeal to you personally, there are clearly many people who purchase and enjoy the VA Systems products because the developer is continuing to release them. If nobody was buying them, then the developer would very quickly go out of business.
Thanks,
MSFS Team
Hopefully the past few months of updates with over 50% shovelware each week will persuade those working on FS2024 to add a âSelect Allâ to the filters so we can then easily filter out what we donât want to see.
FYI, for those that might not have seen it:
118 votes as of this posting.
This search:
marketplace filter #official:wishlist status:open
will show other requests for changes to the Marketplace.
Agree that itâs the clutter thatâs messing it up. There doesnât seem to be a realisation that a lot of users donât care for a majority of the store content and never will so if you still want to allow it just provide a way to permanently filter it so those that donât want it donât ever have to see it. Just simple âDonât show this productâ and ââDonât show this developerâ options.
This argument makes sense on the surface, however itâs simply not true for the products being released by this specific developer. They are very clearly pushing high volume (in terms of items in the MP)/low effort items in the MP and charging between $10 and $20 per (lowest price is $8). If I had to bet, Iâd say itâs some individual pumping out these âtraining missionsâ as fast as humanly possible and they donât have to sell very many at all to make it worth it.
I mean just look- they have 248 products on the marketplace and the vast majority have zero reviews, and even the ones with the most reviews only have 10ish. Obviously, number of reviews and total sales volume donât always correlate, but surely if these products were popular then weâd see their top selling product with more than 10 reviews.
With that said, I agree that not everyone has the same interest and people can buy whatever they want, but letâs not act like they are running some sophisticated business here. This is clearly a case of pumping out as much as possible with very minimal effort.
It would be a nice feature to enable a filter to remove products from view. Its annoying to have to scroll past all the VA systems fodder to reach something interesting.
My idea would not be a permanent filter. Still allow all products to be visible (thatâs fair), but a row of tabs along the top of the scrolling part for categories so you can more easily see items youâre interested in seeing.
| Aircraft | Airports | Scenery | Missions | Liveries | Utilities |
We sort of have that already with the different categories. It needs to be stronger than that and persistent to be of any use.
Thank you for posting this. I have also added my vote.
Categories arenât in the new releases sub section though (or are they?)?
Not sure. Was just talking general browsing. I donât always look every week at the new stuff and by the time I do look the last lot is mixed in anyhow.
If the B2 has only been released for PC, then why is it advertised on the main pageâs Marketplace on Xbox?
