From the UK, and mainly fly in Europe, so this is a nice way to explore other parts of the world. Besides the wx is much better ‘down south’ than overhere! ![]()
One thing I like about Australia along the east coast, are the thunderstorms and high winds that you get through summer. They are a little unique to Australia and those same conditions are hard to find elsewhere.
The UK for us in australia is a good place to fly in-sim as you have daylight when it’s evening here, so real time real weather works, the only problem is the uk is often covered in a cloud layer so all you see once airborne is a layer cloud below.
Happy Christmas to you and yours as well! Let me know what you think and I’ll start building out the bush trip.
I completed a 360 tour of Australia’s coast, it was fantastic scenery with the current MSFS Australia.
The changes in landscapes made for fascinating flying and made me realise how big Australia is.
Approx Total Distance: 6529 nm
Approx Total Duration: 41 hours 32 minutes
Looking forward to the updated scenery (Ithink, unless MS do something to break what we already have)
Thnx. What do you think. Waite flying your routes untill the new update is out? Or fly it now?
Currently flying Bonanza Turbo from UK to Australia via India (just left Nepal and the highest mountains in the world - G36T just about managed at 27,000ft!) and planning to spend some time exploring Australasia, landfall at Darwin. Looking for any flightplans with interesting scenery, some ideas already thanks.
Going to retain British reg so if anybody spots G-TURB…!
For something in the interior fly N from Adelaide (YPAD) up to the Flinders Ranges, over Wilpena Pound which is quite special. Mountainous outback. For the quick Wilpena fly-over you could take off from Rawnsley Park. Looks fantastic in the sim. See also Discovery Resorts - Wilpena Pound, Flinders Ranges, South Australia
That’s an amazing trip just there. For those overseas, Australians often take a year off work and school and do a caravan holiday around Australia. Happy Christmas!
I was actually trying to plan a trip this morning in this area. Thanks for the tip. A friend of mine who has flown all over Australia in her job as a pilot, says that the Flinders Ranges is one of her favourite places to fly.
I’m hoping to start building the bush trips in the new year and should have one or two of them released by the time the next world update is live.
Edit: I misread your original comment @Stravinksy42. Your call on whether you want to fly them now or wait. If you wait, I’ll have a really good bush trip built with lots of great content. ![]()
My pleasure! Happy flying!
Thnx mate for all the work. Can’t waite. Greetings.
Not long to go until world update 7 - Australia
Happy New Year
Here is the map for Scone to Gloucester, but what is also on this map are the large open cut coal mines of the Hunter Valley (some of the most productive coal mines in the world), the Vineyards (some of the best wine in the world) and the Horse Studs (producing some of the best race horses in the world). this is a really interesting area to fly. To the north are the Barrington Tops, a sub Alpine area which has some very large mountains. There is also a VFR lane along the valley floor following the railway line north to Taree via Gloucester. This area is highly recommended for something a little different.
Two of the most ignored cities in flight sims are Adelaide and Perth - The airports get made but the cities/suburbs need love.
So much for Australia Day then eh?
I thought ADL area is pretty good for the most part, seems better than MEL in the sim. Shame all of the city roads look like dirt tracks, but that seems a common problem with MSFS. The scenery around ADL looks great, although it has better scenery than MEL in the real world too. ![]()
I was cruising along the Great Ocean Road in my spitfire last night, the 12 apostles looked pretty good, seems to be more of them left than there are supposed to be though!
Hey Deggers, I just spruced this up and put on Flightsim.to for the community:

I have also started working on Shell harbour spruce up as well.
