Aviat Husky

Hope some of y’all who’ve bought this (I haven’t yet, waiting to see if the quirks are tweaked in updates) have reported the differential braking issue via Zendesk. Posting here it might get picked up. Zendesk likely actually puts it on someone’s “to do list” to verify/consider a fix.

And Harrison Ford landed on a taxiway with a Husky some years ago. Circle closed.

There is a conflict between the Husky and an addon that resides in the Community folder. So far I have eliminated the Bush League Legends X cub Performance mod and the OZX Goose HD as suspects. The conflict manifests itself like this; When I flip the gear switch it goes up and down and the lights change color. But the indicators on the floats and the gear in the external view do not move. When I re-named my community folder to community.old the animations were normal. The amphibious aircraft that I have besides the Goose include the Widgeon, Cessna 140 and Blackbox Birddog. I also have the Icon Performance mod. I will keep trying to find the conflicting addon; but maybe someone will beat me to it.

The amphibians added to the base sim like the 172 and XCub in SU5 also had this problem. It was caused by a conflict with the Beech G36 improvement mod. The G36 mod has since been updated to correct this, I believe. Look for that mod in your community folder and remove it to test.

I’ve been enjoying the Husky. The only issue I’ve come across is the landing lights. I use the Honeycomb Alpha yoke, and the landing lights work backwards. (I flip the switch on, the lights turn off. I flip the switch off, the lights turn on.) The lights work fine when using the mouse. This is the only aircraft doing this, so no, it’s not a mapping issue.

not even showing up in my marketplace

Check in the “Bundles” section, not sure why they put it there but was the same with the Top Rudder 103.

That was the problem. Unfortunately there has been no update to the Bonanza mod.

There was a report about the differential braking but I think they were claiming they do not work.

In actual fact they do work, but in reverse, opposing the direction of your attempted turn/correction.

Don’t know if it’ll do any good, but I just reported it in ZenDesk. Note it’s unclear whether Asobo-branded planes from the Marketplace are supposed to use the ZenDesk for MSFS, but hey it can’t hurt.

I wish the plane we have in the sim had the same panel as Juan’s plane has, or at least an option for it. Nothing wrong with the one we got, but that panel in his plane is so clean.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned to you elsewhere but incase not and still trying to solve, the Water Rudder is controlled by the chain below the circuit breakers on the right just next too lower door panel.

Also, does anyone know if there is a MSFS manual for this? I can’t find one but seems a shame isn’t one easily available given most 3rd party aircraft do.

Unpopular opinion: Every new payware aircraft (sans ultralights, I suppose) should come with both a steam gauge panel (maybe with a GNS530/430 at most) and a glass panel. Every single one.

What does the traffic dial/button do? A manual would be helpful…

did it work ?

I can’t believe it. Is it really possible to make such a big mistake? This is a classic plane. It should have been released to the developer with traditional instruments. Terrible digital, with instruments. I want to see traditional instruments.

That’s the least unpopoular opinion I’ve ever seen.

I Love Steam gauge, the C140 is one of my favourites in game at the moment.

However the cockpit they chose for this addon has the LEAST Glass and the most steam of all the currently available loadouts.

Not sure that is unpopular, more just not often mentioned. It would be great though I do like the fact the cockpit is slim and sleek with the current panel but given how many products have shown it’s easy to have a switch or a tablet with options it’s a real shame that official MSFS products haven’t yet caught up with that. Same for paint kits and basic manuals in my view.

As a premium deluxe purchaser and seeing the state of the extra aircraft under Asobos control, I would be happy to accept that if it meant the planes getting properly supported.
