Are all y’all having the problem letting the copilot handle AI?
I’m having some issues but sometimes it behaves itself. Which particular problem are you referring to?
I’ve just left LEBL enroute to Faro and so far everything is fine - varied voices and co-pilot is responding to atc.
15 minutes into my flight and now atc and copilot voices are locked to the same female voice having being working fine at first…(and the atc messages to me are being spoken but not all are appearing in the atc dialogue box - it’s all a bit flakey but some of these are known issues so not sure if we are meant to file a bug report?)
Using live traffic or FSLTL injector.
I also have identical ATC and AI pilot voices.
When I switch channel, the voices change from female to male, but so do the AI pilot voices.
So ATC is always talking to themselves.
Update: Also, it sounds like only the users voice is Neural Azure. ATC and AI sound like they used to.
Is it also safe to assume this does NOT cover local accents as well? Im not seeing any difference between Philippines English and UK English.
Nope - never use AI co-pilot.
This behaviour is occurring on normal flights under full user control - as has never been this way prior to su9
Will awesome if/when that happens.
I didn’t pay attention to the voices of other aircraft or ATC, but I couldn’t help but notice that “my” voice was female. C172, both pilot avatars are male, ATC TTS set to Azure, traffic injected by AIG.
I’ve found my pilot voice now seems to be random - sometimes male / sometimes female - with no change in sim settings.
My voice has become female today (male avatar)….. I’m not even in the beta!
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
Yes, although I reset my ‘Misc’ settings to see if the bug is related to my pilots voice or not. It did switch the ATC voice (and the responding AI pilots voices to male).
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
The bug isn’t the lack of Azure voices, as I’ve heard both male and female now, it’s the fact that SU9 Beta uses the same voice for both ATC and AI/Live Traffic responses at the same frequency. This is a regression from SU8 and earlier and is easy to see not working (Just go to any airport with live traffic turned on, tune to ATC Clearance and hear Azure talk to itself using the same voice for request/response). I really hope this issue doesn’t come with SU9 as it sort of ruins ATC (why bother having ATC turned on if you’re just going to hear the single voice talk to itself).

Thank you using the Bug section, using templates provided will greatly help the team reproducing the issue and ease the process of fixing it.
Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?
No
Brief description of the issue:
ATC voice is always the same from controller and pilot of AI aircraft. There is no variation it uses always the same voice for both. If controller is a woman, pilots are also all woman and the other way too.
Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:
Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:
Plan an IFR flight and listen to surrounding atc.
PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:
I9-9900K, RTX3090, 32GM RAM, Windows 10

Tried again with 1.25.7.0 and this still seems to be an issue.
Same steps of starting at CYVR with Live Traffic, tuning ATC Clearance and hearing the same ATC voice be used for both ATC and AI flights people. E.g. this conversation used the same Azure voice for all of this back and forth:
Why do you think they think they fixed it? Is there any case at all where ATC and AI traffic uses different voices?
There’s been an update, details here:
Fixed in the notes said this, so I retried it after applying update:
• The same Azure Text-To-Speech voice should no longer be used by both ATC and AI traffic
Yes, with SU8 it used a different voice for the ATC and the reply from the AI pilots, as in, each AI flight would have at least a different voice to the ATC it was talking to. There’s only a few voices, but before SU9 beta the ATC and AI pilots didn’t use the same voice for a conversation.
Yes, sorry, my question wasn’t clear. I was asking if there was any case at all where the issue was fixed. They think they fixed it for some reason.
The release notes for the update included this line?
The same Azure Text-To-Speech voice should no longer be used by both ATC and AI traffic
..which I thought was referring to this issue?
I am thinking maybe it’s just flying around in a sort of free-fly session where it is fixed. But it’s just a wild guess. I’ll try and listen for it today.
For me the steps to hear it are not too bad, e.g.
1 - Select a parking spot at an airport which usually has Live Traffic (so a busy one).
2 - Turn on your power. With ATC, click ‘Tune to ATC Clearance’.
3 - Listen to the ATC have the same voice as all the AI Flights on that frequency as they ask for clearance.
Before SU9 beta the caller and callee used to have different Azure voices, while for me they now have the same voice (which ruins it a bit, as it’s like someone talking to themselves).
If we get different results but have the same MSFS installed build (1.25.7.0) then one explanation might be some network connectivity or service resource difference, e.g. not just a difference on our machines but more how the online service is working for different people, locales etc. Dunno.
Yeah, you’re right, it doesn’t appear to be fixed at all.
