Azure ATC only has one gender type on each frequency - for ATC and all AI aircraft

As the OP of this… also confirming not fixed.

Absolutely no change from previously. So either Asobo don’t understand the bug or somehow they have managed to mark something fixed that hasn’t changed at all. I feel the recreation steps couldn’t be much easier?

As a regression from SU8 that is completely immersion breaking this needs to be fixed - properly - before SU9 is released.

@Jummivana - any chance you can get feedback from the dev team on why something that is clearly in the release notes of the new version isn’t fixed at all.

My ATC at KATL is completely broken. No ATC voices AT ALL! I don’t know if it’s because I deleted the airport using the content manager or what. Also, sometimes I suspend the FlightSimulator.exe process in the background to save on resources, so random glitches like this could be of my own doing. I should try restarting the simulator.

Edit - restarting the sim fixed my missing ATC voices at KATL. However ATC and AI traffic have the same voice.

I have passed on the feedback that despite the release notes today this does not look to be fixed. Will see what they say - thanks!

Awesome - thank you

12. Switched to Azure Neural Text-To-Speech technology

I understood that this transition to these new, more natural sounding, Azure voices would mean that all the voices would be this way. Surely if it’s a switch to a new technology that’s what it means.

The new voices are so much better that it’s a huge shame I’m only hearing them once in a blue moon.

From the Microsoft Website…

Bring your scenarios……..to life with highly expressive and human-like voices. Neural Text to Speech supports several speaking styles, including chat, newscast, and customer service, and emotions like cheerfulness and empathy.

That is certainly not what we have at the moment. 90% of the time it’s the older robotic voices I’m hearing, except as noted they’re now all the same one.

For me, ensuring the system is fully switched to the neural technology is every bit as important as returning the variety.

Yes and there is a different bug for that recorded in the release note section. Probably best to comment there so things are kept in line with reported issues.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

Su9 issue, Not fixed with 1.25.7.0 , Atc using only one Azure voice, and pilot and Co-pilot voice will not change with avatar selection. Offline Atc voices has same issue plus ATC voice still says gibberish with Weather info. However Voice quality is excellent with SU9.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

PC, Steam , Stock,

…wondering if this will be fixed by Tuesday…

The lack further feedback has me thinking not, will be a real shame that something lodged on day one of beta, and acknowledged as bug would still be there at release when it’s a regression scenario.

Confirming they are working through this but it won’t be fixed yet for tomorrow’s release. Moving to Bug Report section as they work on the fix.

Thank you very much for keeping us updated, and for forwarding our concerns to the devs.

Yep, can confirm not fixed in the SU 9 release, so hopefully a regression that doesn’t take too long to fix up.

SU10 is planned for July so it depends on your definition of soon.

If no or partial, please give details below on your findings:

Only the users pilot voice talking to ATC appears to be Neural - ATC itself and any AI aircraft are still original Azure TTS. Very obvious different in the cadence and accuracy of the speach of the user pilot.

The voice used for the AI pilot and ATC is exactly the same. Breaks immersion, sounds like ATC is answering herself.
User pilot is sounding great in my opinion.

confirming previous reports. Pilot Voice sounds good, but ATC and AI all use same voice, breaking immersion and making hard to recognize who is who.

As previously reported, the players voice has changed but only on one occasion did ATC have the new voice. On any given frequency, all none player voices are the same. Changing frequency changes that voice, but then all non-player voices are the same as the new one and so-on.

Agreed 100%, also offline Atc still transmitting garbage words during wind direction info.
