I am not big fan of cs after what they did in msfs with their Frankenstein planes. But C-130 looks good though.
If you have both, can you compare?

No comparison C-160 hands down. CS has a nice model but it is still CS.
Not even a competition. Get the C-160 and wait for Milviz’s C-130.
I don’t own the CS C-130 but I can still tell you that with confidence.
Mind that the Milviz model is going to be a glass panel J version. So not really an alternative to the CS steam gauges one.
I got the Transall and even though I’d love to add the old school C-130 to my virtual hangar, I am not getting this one.
Definitely C 160. Great detail and immersion, and it has got paratroopers jumping out of the plane
Im a retired USCG C27J Pilot. So im biased to twin engine SAR hauler. Im no fan of the C130E-H. although Im impressed with the RW J variant. Such as this is a Sim, the CS marketing needs to step back to P3D, especially regarding paints. To that end the Azur Poly C160 is my go to Platinum standard. Brings back some fond memories of my time spent with French-German RW C160’s during my 22 years.
Azurpoly C-160 without hesitation. The good will that CS could have made off this plane was utterly destroyed with the anti-consumer livery policy. Not to mention the amount of bugs in the plane and lack of options at $40…yikes.
IRL I have no doubts… the take off of the Transall was like a horror movie and the herk has always been a reference. In the MSFS world the Azurpoly version has more features. Never flew the C160 in real life so I don’t know about the flight model. C130 is very simple (only VOR navigation, no TAC or GPS) but is very well modeled, it’s been a long time without flying the real C130H but it’s not very close to the feeling of the real one.
This is easy. The answer is Both. They both meet my needs perfectly; .and. everything works in the C160 .and. most in the Cpt Sim C-130H. I still haven’t found the glide scope in the C-130 and wish the GTN-750 was available as in the C160.
I have both. I want to like the C-160 but it has always been a framerate killer on my machine where most other aircraft are smooth as. I caved and purchased the c-130 a couple of days ago and whilst no means perfect it is helping to scratch that military transport itch. I hope they continue to enhance and develop it as it is such a nice looking cockpit to fly in. Well except for the in your face radar scope mounted on the glareshield that is. I wish there was an option to remove it.
Glideslope is AFF mode and you have to be on the localizer first, then swap to AFF mode BELOW the glideslope first. It’ll capture everytime. I will say once you get it it almost always comes in to the left of the runway so don’t count on it in zero visibility lol!
Bugs? Just finished a 3 hour flight in the CS C130H and it was very stable all the time.
What/Where is AAF mode?
Tried using the fuel cross feeds? That’s a good one. All the engine surge and die when you do anything with them. That’s just the first one lol. Lets not pretend that a CS plane is bug free please.
Also as a bonus I love the double pilots in the cockpit when you turn that option on too. And that’s just two bugs.
Center pedestal where the AP modes are. It’s the far right hand option.
Got it. Thanks muchly.
