Naaa, not that easy. Of course you can set a camera position that is close enough to the HUD to view all content. That doesnt eliminate the flaw that all content has to be visible from the default pilot head position without the need to crawl into the HUD. Actually it is still to magnified at all.
Just compare the views in the video linked above and the actual behaviour of msfs 2020.
It shouldnât need a âguaranteeâ - the very purpose and nature of a HUD is to create a pilot-centric display to provide all necessary flight data in the immediate field of vision without requiring the pilot to contort or change his seating position or body attitude to use it.
And this is not new technology. Basic projected optical gunsites have been used since WWII. Full-data HUDs have been evolving from that humble beginning for decades.
Furthermore, until SU7 when MSobo implemented proper collimation, the field of view worked properly. Now that the collimation features have been added, they failed to set focus point of the new display to match the default seating position of the pilot. There should be no need for work-around like creating some new camera view we have to create a keybind for or remember to change to. Itâs akin to how they implemented the F/A-18 afterburner, requiring a new keybind to actually use instead of tying into the last 5% - 10% throttle range, which would make much more sense.
Second flaw that appears in this context is the fact the cockpits in msfs are still rendered to narrow in horizontal so that the cockpits always feel oppressively tight. Compare the shapes of the HUDâs. This is much more prominent in VR and was mentioned here exhaustive. Unfortunately, our requests for a way to individually adjust the perspective have not yet been heard.
I voted for this thread now as well - been trying to fly the 787 a bit more regularly again since the last update but I definitely miss a working HUD during night approaches I hope this will get fixed at some point
Because that i have stopped this pointless procedure months ago. Zendesk is nothing more than a veil to make people feel like theyâre being noticed. Itâs kind of like the suggestion box in the company, you can get rid of your frustration, but not much more happens. Thats best case scenario, in the bad one you get fired
Ok, this is a sadly neglected âpremium deluxeâ aircraft and it takes 17+ months to bring it to the current state, seriously, how reassuring is such a statement then?
Hey, I havenât been able to use the HUD on the 78X since the HUD got updated to be collimated. Itâs persisted ever since. Iâve worked with game engines before so maybe it has to do with the shader material itself? Iâm not sure what it looks like under the hood. I know with the third-party F-15âs, F-14âs, F-35âs, and even the Asobo F-18, it seems to be fine?
Microsoft Store, no dev mode changes, regardless of mods.
