Best 4K Record Editor?

Hi everyone,

I just didn’t know where to put this or didn’t know if there’d be anywhere else to ask. I was wondering if anyone could suggest me(optionally free) 4K video editor? I have been using windows video editor but can’t export as 4K after merging subvideos.

Thanks everyone, appreciate it !

Can’t thank enough. I really really appreciate it!

DaVinci Resolve is a professonal video post production suite for editing, sound, compositing and color grading. A free version with some options disabled is available.

Definitely worth it. Bit of a learning curve but you have everything you need in one package and wont ever need anything else.

I use DaVinci Resolve for all my video editing. CAUTION: First time users should go through all the tutorials at least once before attempting any editing. It is a professional-grade editor. It is not a “load and go” type of editor like the Windows Movie Editor. I recommend DaVinci only if you have the time to learn how to use it, even for basic editing.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. Will definitely take a look

I do appreciate for the caution  Will consider it definitely.

I don’t think the free version of DaVinci will export in 4K though, will it? It’s been a while since I played with it. I found it too complex for what I wanted, went with Wondershare Filmora X in the end. Not free, but not too expensive, and it will output in 4K.

Owwww, you might be right about the free version not doing 4K. Sorry about that.

DaVinci Resolve 17 (free version) exports in 4K. The free version doesn’t have enhanced special effects and interfaces for video editing hardware. The paid version target audience are film/video professionals.

I bought a license for Action! - Screen Recording Software and Gameplay Recorder (mirillis.com).

It can support 4K and HDR, even for Live Streaming to YouTube. I quite like it, and I’ve been using this for recording all my flights in real time.
