Yes unless something has changed recently. Haven’t flown it in a couple months but I’ve only heard good things from others on here as well
I think it’s far better, flight model, avionics, sounds, can use the PMS GTN750. Recently got an update and the dev has stated there is one more coming before they start to focus more on the NG which will be an expansion pack of the base PC12.
It is still a 2020 model, their working on converting the kodiak 100 and PC12 to 2024 native aircraft.
Second this. For me it mostly comes down to the cockpit. If you want a more analog feel (which I generally do), the TBM is an amazing mix of just enough glass but plenty of “steam” gauges. The FSR500 is great if you prefer the G1000.
One tidbit to go with this: I had some issues with getting my simpit setup with the FSR just after it was released, and I (probably unfairly) abandoned it. With the proliferation of BlackSquare aircraft, I find it easier to understand and navigate the various mechanisms in SPAD and transfer one to the next. So I can’t make a fair comparison between the two in their current state. The FSR has been updated a lot since, so it deserves another look.
But again, I prefer the more analog panel, so that’s my primary motivator.
Ditto. Besides just personally preferring old school stuff, I find G1000s harder to read and a little boring in the context of a sim. It just makes such a significant part of the experience the same between so many aircraft. Totally get the utility IRL but it’s fun learning where everything is, and how each particular mismatched set of instruments, systems and autopilot work together. Just like how it is in the IRL GA planes most people actually get to fly, your average personally owned hobbyist plane is not going to be fitted with the latest glass cockpit.
I fly helicopters exclusively, so I live between 0-2000 ft AGL I use a bunch of things that I see down low.
I am currently doing an around the world flight, where I land at every single paved airport in the country before I move to the next one, currently in Germany, so might also use scenery for those areas, like clearing trees on roads and such, but the following I use everywhere:
