BeyondATC

Not experiencing that myself this afternoon.

As for @GimbalAxis 's earlier questions about traffic, two things. First and foremost, there is a rare SU4 bug I linked above reported by me and at least one or two others that very occasionally, especially if the sim decides to reset your settings due to some glitch, that when you reset your traffic settings to whatever you had before, the sim will not recognize your settings. E.g., if you have Parked Traffic Quantity or Air Traffic Quantity set to Off, the sim will still inject some models of its own. You have to cycle through each setting, save it to something, then cycle it back to Off again and save it once more to get your settings to “stick.”

Second, as for traffic visible from your aircraft in flight, BATC traffic does get recognized on TCAS and should appear on the ND for aircraft with working TCAS. I see it regularly on my flights using BATC traffic.

I just launched a flight and trafic is not loading for me. Bit strange as on their Discord, they say that it’s fixed.

Well, we’ll see tomorrow

Logging out of my BATC Account and back in fixed it for me. YMMV.

Same here. Logged out and back in again and all way good.

I have a question about BeyondATC traffic injection:

When you change Sim Rate (eg for long routes), does the BATC injected traffic speed up accordingly?

I ask because on a trans-Atlantic flight with Sim Rate increased by 2 notches, I just went zooming past another plane on a parallel route.

There was an outage yesterday:

Around 14 hours ago, we suffered a server outage that for a short period of time made BeyondATC unavailabe. That issue was mitigatted quickly by scaling of our server infrastructure. Currently our servers are running without issue and show no errors for any of our services.

Some users are still reporting they are having issues loading traffic. This appears to be sporadic with no obvious cause on our end currently.

We will be continuing to monitor this and look for solutions once (if) we are able to reproduce the problem ourselves.

UPDATE: Moving your flight time to earlier may also help, avoiding Saturday zulu times as a workaround for now - do not go more than 24 hours earlier to stay in the MSFS 2024 historic weather window

The issue with the traffic service appearing unavailable for some users, should now be resolved.

Yes working fine today  They said that final fix was set at about midnight GMT +1 on their discord.

Yes working fine again today. I figured it was on there end but wasn’t sure

Hello! I have a problem - since yesterday BeyondATC only works when I am using VPN. Do you have any geographical limitations for your software?

Without VPN I can’t even use a test:

As soon as I turn VPN on it works flawlessly.

Try turning router off for 3 mins then back on. I’ve had it happen not with BATC but with some websites. My IP address got refreshed and it was back to normal.

No idea what causes it though.

Is there a fix/workaround for ATC getting stuck in a loop with one aircraft? It’s been repeating the same line over and over to the same aircraft. this just goes on as long as I’m on frequency

I’m noticing a possible pattern for the “you are off course, resume own navigtion” messages from BATC - when you are exactly ON course - perhaps it happens more in heavy cross wind (and makes some calculation based on your plane’s heading instead of track)?

Also, does anyone else feel like other aircraft on the ground taxi really fast? I always have another plane tailgating / rear-ending my plane even if I’m taxiing at a healthy 20-25 kts

Yes! also if you ever watch them exit the runway some seem to do it at crazy speed, rolling out after landing and then a hard 90 at like 40knots to slam on the brakes after clearing the hold short.

Sometimes stopping and restarting BATC helps. You can skip directly to the appropriate phase of flight, f. ex. cruise.

And log a bug on Discord if you want.

OK so BATC traffic does not change speed when you use Sim Rate. I assumed if I increase sim rate, everything would increase speed by the same rate.

I am in the 787-10 CYVR to RJTT, FL400, with Sim Rate increased by 2 notches (x4?)

According to the BATC Map, a 787-9 in front of me is flying
at FL410, 279 IAS / 575 GS kts

According to same BATC Map, I am
at FL400, 266 IAS / 428 GS (slower)

And, I flew right past the 787-9.
Also, The GS speed seems wrong for the other plane (my instruments match BATC) and we were very close, so winds wouldn’t account for the large difference in our Ground Speeds (I don’t think).

Finally, how is the BATC injected plane flying West at an ODD altitude, and it won’t let me climb to an odd altitude (we are both 787’s after all)!

I had the same thing at EGGD. Bristol is one of the busiest airports in the UK, yet there was only a single EasyJet A320 parked up. Re-loading my flight a few times got me to a grand total of two Airbuses and a KLM Embraer.

I would expect to see far far more traffic than this on a Sunday afternoon.

There are several possible reasons for a wrong GS (wind, pressure density, …) and after still seeing raindrops hitting the windshield sideways after so many updates, physics in MSFS cannot be trusted.

My main issue with BATC is that whenever I open the main BATC window it leads to a gradual, but massive fps drop within a few seconds. I mainly notice it when I use taxiing map, but it happens when any BATC screen is active. Any hints how to mitigate it?

Are you using Framegen?

It happens both with and without framegen, but it is more noticeable without framegen.
