Couple of questions - I see on occasion “white tail” aircraft at my airports (one common one are the Cape Air Cessnas and Tecnams at KBOS). Any idea how to get these liveries for my AI trafffic? I’m using FSLT.
After SU6, noted that all my AI traffic settings had been changed in the sim’s settings. I went back in and restored parked aircraft to “off”. When I respawned on the ramp, I still saw a couple of MSFS’s generic airliners parked nearby. Any idea how to get those generics deleted?
For the record, still see zero improvement with departure and arrival vectors. Can’t recall a single flight that vectored me in a manner remotely close to RL.
The reason for my post was to point out that COM2 wasn’t fully functional as I had false hopes after seeing the orignal post about this feature and I gave and explanation of why it matters to me as I understand for most people it doesn’t matter.
If I knew if/when it was coming (along some some other features that I would like) then I may decide to spend the money, but I usually choose not to spend money on products to don’t meet my needs. There are a lot of promises made for products in flight sim that never come to fruition and there are a lot of places to spend money in this hobby.
I pay close attention and I’ve been impressed with BeyondATC delivering updates to the product but it isn’t quite where I would like it yet. When it gets there, I will be more than happy to spend the $60.
Unless you’re either (a) flying a single-pilot aircraft or (b) simulating that your FO is unconscious, there’s nothing unrealistic about auto-tuning radios.
Just noticed on flightsim.to that there’s a section called ‘BATC profiles’, which features little mods that allegedly fix traffic issues at certain airports…
I have had BeyondATC for some time …mainly because I wanted the VFR features, so its been sat idle waiting …
I did weaken at the weekend and upgraded to get the experimental version
…But I also did my first ever IFR flight using it …and was very impressed.
Did a test flight from France to UK and it was pretty faultless !
Well I had no go around tonight on a flight with the Fenix A319 into Barcelona but BATC basically lost me. I was 100 miles out and they told me to reduce my speed to 220 knots. That last 100 miles took forever. I eventually started going into the approach and nothing from BATC so I went into approach mode and went to flaps 1. While speed was dropping towards flaps 2 speed BATC said to make my speed 210. At this point the airport is coming up fast so I just flew it down on my own, no clearance to land. Had to dive it basically. No acknowledgment of the landing and no change to ground frequency after I turned off.
I’ve notice that after you request descent that often you are given a very low altitude and told to descend via the star, no mention of what it is so you have to look at what simbrief gave you. When they say to descend in this manner (in this case from 280k to 4k) does it mean a managed descent where you hit target altitudes at each waypoint or do you just go down to the final altitude immediately? It seemed like you used to get stepped descent instructions so I’m a bit confused at what I should be doing and if it maybe is affecting that final approach.
Yes, it means to descend according to the altitudes and speed restrictions on the approach chart for the STAR (Standard Arrivial), so as long as the STAR is in your FMS, you select the lowest altitude of the STAR, and initiate Managed Descent (DES mode, not Open DES) and the plane should obey the altitude / speed restrictions in the flight plan. It would be very unusual circumstances to be directed to descend ignoring those restrictions.

He is not promoting monitoring ATIS on COM2, he is promoting that you can also monitor every other frequencies on COM2 with new exp. release, not just ATIS!
I just found one for TNCM, a notoriously screwed airport when using BATC.
