The issue was investigated within minutes of the first reports coming through, with Bing servers being the focus. Finding the root cause of an issue and why/where the outage is occurring can take some time as teams investigate more deeply.
all of a sudden i loaded MSFS 2020 and in the world globe where you create your flight plan the terminals donât show up just circles and grassâŠ
iâm enclosing a creen shot any one know why i canât see the terminals?
This is all because of the Bing Streaming issues. Normally, youâd have the Bing Map in the background. Only the runways are placed in the world map, everything else uses the satellite imagery.
Root cause analysis may take time, sure, but taking 8 hours from initially focusing on the servers to confirm that they are, indeed, out, is a little over the topâŠ.
I have the same problem on Xbox Series X : on the top right corner, my profile shows that I am online. But when I want to fly, it says that I am offline, and I am missing required content. But I am online and connected to a server as my profile shows, and all content is downloaded.
I tried what suggested but it didnât work : Go to options (RB) >> General options>> Data >> Online functionality⊠change to ON (for me it is already activated and it is grayed). Then goto your user profile at the top right, select and under âstatusâ it should now say ONLINE (it shows that I am already online).
Also, all the connexion/multiplayer options on the Xbox are OK.
By the way, 8h ago, I could play/fly with no problem.
This is exactly whats happening to me as well. I even uninstalled the simulator and reinstalled it and im still dealing with the issue. Any help would be great.
I am having the same issue. It says that i am online. I have went to data options and everything is online. I cant fly but i can look at everything else.
There is this message on the top of the forum page :
âWe are continuing to monitor player reports that Bing Maps is currently unavailable. We have escalated this internally and investigations have concluded a Bing Data Server outage. We will provide a further update when we have more information. Thank you for your patience.â
The biggest problem is that it closes itself. Then you have to go to data where it looks ok but you have to close it anyway, then save and resume go back and turn it on again. Thatâs the only way these days. It gets from bad to worse.
As of this morning, I encounter the same issue described above whenever I try to start a flight:
âWARNING: You are currently offline and do not have the optional Offline Mode files installedâŠâ
Wrong on both counts. I am very much online and I very much do have the optional offline files installed, having used them successfully in the past.
Under General > Data both the Online Functionality and Bing Maps sections are set to âOnâ but greyed out.
Iâm on Xbox, have >250 hrs on MSFS, very few add ons, no other games installed and have never had this problem before.
This issue completely prevents me from using the console and sim for which I have paid a great deal of money, so I am hoping it will be addressed promptly. I am concerned that other users (posting above and elsewhere) have had to wait a long time before receiving a response or a solution.
Very much hoping that someone can help, or direct me to a forum that can.
As mentioned, the team will need to investigate further to see what specifically is not working with the Bing Data Servers, be it a total outage, a loss of information being transferred to the simulator, or something else. There may be multiple elements that contribute to server issues.
