Birdstrike Sim – Helicopter Missions, Scenery & Liveries for MSFS 2024
Hello everyone!
This is the main thread for all helicopter missions, operational scenery and liveries developed under the Birdstrike Sim project for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
The project focuses on immersive helicopter operations, particularly:
- Search and rescue
- Mountain rescue
- HEMS and medical evacuation
- Firefighting
- Operational helicopter training
Some missions are based on or inspired by real operations, while others are fictional scenarios designed around real procedures, environments and helicopter workflows.
All Birdstrike Sim files listed here are available free of charge through Flightsim.to.
Mission Systems
Miltech Mission Hub Missions
These missions require Miltech Mission Hub.
They are not restricted to one specific helicopter unless otherwise stated on the individual download page. Different compatible helicopters can normally be used depending on the type of operation.
HPG H145 Action Pack Missions
These missions are specifically designed for the HPG Airbus H145 and use the mission system included with the H145 Action Pack.
They appear directly in the mission section of the H145 tablet.
Miltech Mission Hub Missions
Picos de Europa SAR Mission – Operation Bulnes
A helicopter SAR mission set around Cabaña Verónica and Picu Urriellu in the Picos de Europa.
The operation takes place in demanding high-mountain terrain and requires the Picos de Europa SAR Scenery.

Lost Hiker – SAR Mission | SAR Campaign 2026
A search and rescue mission set in the Benasque valley, in the Spanish Pyrenees.
The mission involves visual navigation, searching for a missing hiker and completing an aerial evacuation. English and Spanish versions are included.

Artemis II Recovery Operation – Helicopter SAR Mission
A fictional helicopter recovery mission inspired by NASA Artemis II recovery operations.
The flight begins from a naval vessel off the California coast and focuses on supporting the recovery of astronauts following splashdown in the Pacific.
English and Spanish versions are included.

Bellós River Rescue | Real SAR Mission | Spanish Pyrenees
A helicopter search and rescue mission based on a real Guardia Civil operation in the Bellós River canyon, within Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park.
The operation includes a visual search, low-level flying through mountainous terrain and a confined-area rescue of stranded canyoners.
English and Spanish versions are included.

Peña Telera Military Rescue | Real Guardia Civil SAR Mission
A mountain rescue mission based on a real Guardia Civil operation following an accident involving several soldiers on Peña Telera.
The mission begins in Benasque and includes the deployment of the rescue team, precision operations in high-mountain terrain and the medical evacuation of five injured soldiers to Hospital General San Jorge.
English and Spanish versions are included.

Firefighting Training – Bambi Bucket & Belly Tank
A firefighting training mission based at El Serranillo Helicopter Base.
It is designed to practise water collection and firefighting operations using either a Bambi Bucket or a belly tank.
Although the training was created around the Bell 205, it can also be flown with other helicopters compatible with Mission Hub and the selected firefighting equipment. English and Spanish versions are included.

Mission SAR – H145 – Laredo, Cantabria
A coastal search and rescue mission in Laredo, northern Spain.
The objective is to locate and evacuate a fisherman using the HPG H145 and its Action Pack mission system. English and Spanish versions are included.

A collection of helicopter missions created for the Benasque Scenery in the Spanish Pyrenees.
The missions focus on mountain rescue and Guardia Civil GREIM-style operations using the HPG H145. English and Spanish versions are included.

A scenery package created for helicopter and mountain rescue operations in the Picos de Europa.
The scenery includes locations around:

A recreation of the El Serranillo helicopter base near Guadalajara, Spain.
The scenery includes an operational helipad, helicopter parking positions, base facilities, firefighting vehicles, equipment and personnel.
It is designed for wildfire response, training flights, cold starts, VFR operations and group flights.

LED6S – Hospital General San Jorge | Huesca, Spain
A recreation of Hospital General San Jorge in Huesca, including its operational heliport, hospital buildings, emergency vehicles and medical personnel.
The scenery is designed for HEMS, SAR and hospital transfer operations and is used as the evacuation destination in the Peña Telera mission.

A Guardia Civil SAER-inspired livery for the HPG Airbus H145.
It was created for mountain rescue, SAR and Guardia Civil GREIM-style operations, particularly around Benasque and the Spanish Pyrenees.

Mission Hub missions and HPG H145 tablet missions use different systems and are installed differently.
