In the newest plane in the MarketPlace from Carenado the M20R. You can’t even turn the avionics off and on again to fix this problem.. There is zero recourse.. You’re screwed.
Asobo.. Really needs to address this like.. Yesterday.. This is unforgivable to let this bug just sit around until next month.
This thread makes me wonder if what happened to me yesterday is related. After a full and uneventful AP flight in the C172, I switched off AP on the downwind leg as I normally do. After that I could not for the life of me trim down and was full joystick nose down just to land. After landing I realized the AP was on and fighting me every step of the way, even though I am positive I switched it off earlier. Very strange.
After the application of the last patch I tried (tried!) for 5 (five!) times the flight from Rome to Berlin (Tegel) with the A320 without ever managing to land in ILS 26!!! Before the patch I made this flight for two times without problems always using the flight advance function (takes me in the “descent” phase).
In three of the 5 times, two displays inexplicably turned off and I never managed to turn them back on. In approach (APPR) the plane did not perform the descent and, at 5 nm and 8000 feet (too late!!!), I decided to exclude the autopilot, but the plane refused to descend while operating the pitch (as if it had blocked the stick!). Of course I abandoned the simulation.
The other two times of the 5, I decided to exclude autopilot and autothrottle at 10 nm from the runway (3000 feet). As mentioned above, the controls allowed to lower the nose but not to raise it!! Needless to say, I had to abandon the simulation.
This patch MAYBE improved the graphics performance, but, at least for the A320, it made the simulation worse!!!
I’ve had this happen on the A320 and 172 after the patch. It has happened on every flight I’ve made in them since the update. Sad to say but it’s unplayable as it is, I have zero confidence that I’ll be able to complete a flight. I’m sure they get it sorted, but until it is its a hard sell to start a flight.
C172 non G1000 did it as well. Saw the AMP meter spike to 60+ when it fails. Then AP becomes dead. you can get the com and nav to work again by recyclying the avionics buttons but the AP remains dead.
To confirm this has nothing to do with input from the user:
I was flying on Autopilot, I had the game alt + tabbed for about a minute but could still hear the game audio. I then heard the knobs turning, while alt + tabbed out of the game. So knobs and switches are turning and changing state all on their own in the game.
This happened to me constantly right after the second patch was released. Not only was the avionics screen dimming, random lights were turning themselves on and off.
Also had the battery and avionics turn themselves on after starting cold and dark at night. I turned them off and they turned back on again automatically after around 30 secs or so.
Since the update/patch the C172 G1000 starts out with a backup battery warning and it won’t stop unless i switch it from armed to off. Then sometime later during flight the MFD goes black. Have to switch off-on avionics bus to get it back, but then every five minutes it goes black again. In the C172 Analog the AP switches off during flight and can’t be turned back on. No mods, and failures all turned off.
Little bit of an update , C-172 Steam Gauges Non G1000 , a lot less issues with avionics going on and off and black screens when i fly in New Zealand & Australia to the point there isn’t a problem and then i go fly back in America specifically Seattle & L.A and it does it straight way and all the time that you cant use it . no idea why this is , no updates no mods haven’t tried anything since i noticed it.
I encountered the exact same issue on the King Air the past two days. Cycling then Avionics Master worked a few times but it reoccurs in a few minutes. The Daher TBM worked ok. Have tried the other a/c since the patch.
It feels like I’ve been thrown back to the 60s cause none of the planes with modern avionics work properly. The only one I can fly around in with not much issue is the Cessna 152 Aerobat. Even then, the comms panel and transponder go dark randomly, but at least the plane doesn’t try to kill itself on landing like all the other ones.
