Black lines in the water

The shot was taken a couple of clicks south of Prairie du Chien WI. Google Earth doesn’t show such things. I’ve never seen so many :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:[image]

Cannot believe you want to encourage coastal erosion with their removal. Groynes, Gabions and Seawalls FTW!

These black lines are frustrating. I notice them most in the estuaries of large rivers and for the first time yesterday, I saw a dirty great big, dark square off the northern coast of Crete near Chania.

this is once again appearing in the sim since a few weeks. Probably since SU14…

Since the very beginning for me. Proper immersion killer

Also seen just west of Killarney (CPT2), caused by a slight elevation mis-match between tiles:

This still persists in SU 15 as well.

Hopefully fixed in MSFS 2024.

I could still see some tile mismatching in the FS2024 footage posted by the content creators from the Global Preview event. It’s probably unlikely that this can be fixed without an overhaul of the Bing tile system, but perhaps they could find workarounds to somewhat mitigate it, like they did with the mountain seams a long while ago.

Apparently not fixed in 2024 as well.

I have been getting these too when using the Hughes Hercules H4 plane on Xbox Series S! Very annoying to look at.

The issue is still present in FS 2024 :frowning:

Thank you for the update. A good reason not to update to MSFS 2024.

Does 2024 still have suicidal ground crew and now have wipers that realistically wipe rain?

Wishing MSFS had competition (maybe from a collaboration between Laminar Research and Google).

Black lines, and hills in the water.

It’s not a fix but turning off photogrammetry fixes the water tiles issue. I’m happier with photogrammetry off as the melted buildings and late rendering looked hideous.

I agree with you, I’ve shut photogrammetry off as well for a much better experience.

This resolved in the latest update? LOL!

Has this been resolved in SU16? I see in the beta SU16 release note description…

World

  • Changed the way water bodies polygons work so that overlapping polygons of the same type no longer cancel each other

When I search for a solution in 2025 and I come across 2021 forums my hopes collapse, there are lines everywhere that ruin everything, mfs24 su3beta

This bug is as old as MSFS and was carried over to FS2024. I doubt it will ever be fixed.

This issue seems really bad on SU3 beta when over the ocean and flying in and out of clouds on a sunny day, lots of grid lines and other artifacting around the lines. Never saw this before in any previous version of MSFS. Saw it a lot with FSX :joy:
