Few days ago i was flying in alaska and got CTDs on 3 of 4 flights. Normally don’t get ANY CTDs.
It was unbearable so i tried the following out of intuition:
i unticked/deactivated the TDS GTNXI in the community folder just to see if the C208 will not CTD with the PMS750.
(I also killed the additional TDS thing from the tray).
Never got any CTD again after that in the following days and the TDS is of course still deactivated…
I imagine that lots of users have the TDS. And thinking about that the TDS tray thing adds 5 degress to my CPU Temp and costs a few frames (so i normally kill it). I wonder how many users just leave that thing sitting there without using it and it just consumes energy and fps whil doing nothing (when not using it…)
My CTDS in the past (knock on wood hence i haven’t had any in a while) were mainly from:
1- Having rolling cache, especially when constantly installing new sceneries and deleting others then installing again etc… without deleting the cache. But you don’t have that issue…so…next:
2- PMS GTN 750. Keep your eye on that one and always update it, it’s a silent assassin. And if it doesn’t need an update, it’s a good idea to uninstall it then reinstall it again.
3- Outdated aircraft interior textures/flight model mods from FSTO.
4- Outdated sceneries not updated for whatever WU was released after.
That’s my bet. I ran with very few mods last night (well, very few for me - bare minimum I’d like to keep installed = 312!) and it was fine until I approached the airport I was landing at. Sound crackled and CTD. Hmm the airport I was coming in to was a mod in Shetland’s so perhaps it was that but it’s only scenery models I don’t see how it would be incompatible to the degree of crashing. Will try again tonight without it but it seems random to me.
Sceneries are known to cause CTD, if incompatible or causing conflicts in ModelLib or Materiallibs files.
I would call Addonlinker for rescue if i was you and let it check for conflicts with Model and Material libs. Those are big CTD culprits.
Reason i haven’t mentioned those in my previous post because i always use Addon linker to prevent this from happening and therefore don’t have to worry about it.

It found 541 wrong models and 59 wrong textures!!
Not counting my chickens QUITE yet but I have been flying all night and not a sign of a crash! This is still with my reduced profile but I might brave it and try to add more stuff soon – having too much fun to risk it at the moment.
Honestly I was getting so frustrated with this sim since last weekend but I’m in love again. I feel another spending spree coming on haha.
I totally didn’t know about this facility being a thing - a very useful function it seems.
