Black Square Steam Gauge Overhaul - King Air 350i

thanks guys worked

still my instruments went down. with both gen on

turn electricity (volt meter bus selector ) knob on triple fed on upperpanel close lighting, you have to learn a bit the checklist  you should be able to figure out by yourself

Some comments on the FUEL SYSTEM

What I’ve found so far:

  1. When there is fuel in AUX tank, at low to medium Ng rpm % AUX fuel decreases and MAIN Fuel increases; at high Ng rpm % both AUX and MAIN fuel decrease.
    This is not correct.
In real, when AUX fuel is being used, only AUX qty decreases until the tank is empty; after that MAIN fuel starts to decrease, and this is not affected by Ng rpm % .

  2. When CROSSFEED is selected, both AUX fuel tanks decrease, crossfeeding side MAIN tank decreases and receiving side MAIN tank increases.
    This is not correct.
In real, AUX tank transfer of receiving side is disabled , crossfeeding side MAIN/AUX is the only one that decreases, and the receiving MAIN tank maintains quantity. Crossfeed Line connects each nacelle tank to the opposite engine, not to the opposite nacelle nor the wing tanks.

  3. CROSSFEED operates the same when both STANDBY pump switches are ON.
    This is not correct.
In real with both switches ON pressure in fuel line is equalized so no crossfeed is possible, each engine will take fuel from its own side.

  4. In real, when CROSSFEED is selected, AUX tank fuel transfer from receiving side is disabled, and NO FUEL XFR warning message illuminates providing it contains fuel.
This message does not show here.

  5. In real, whenever IGNITION is active, either by Starter switch in IGN and START position or ENG AUTO IGN switch in AUTO position, AUX tank fuel transfer from that side is disabled and NO FUEL XFR warning message illuminates providing fuel is present.
This is not happening in this mod.

  6. In real FUEL QTY switch to TEST position should illuminate L/R FUEL QTY warning messages after some seconds. Fuel needles are not affected.
It works different in the mod.

I know the fuel system is quite complex, hope these comments be considered in a future update

Are there any plans for a KA/Caravan bundle?

Thanks a lot. As for charts a got a b300 poh. The problem with itt is the msfs turboprop simulation. we have nearly no tabel to tweak the itt really good, but maybe the dev could implement a custom formular for that. But that would be after tuning the performance. If you wanna help me try out some parameters I would like to ask, if you could contact me via discord JayDee#9534, so I could give you a little mod to test tomorrow.

Kind Regards
JayDee

If you own the Caravan, you get a discount on the King Air. Not sure if it works the other way around though.

But if you own neither, that discount would seem to act as a bundle.

I kinda assumed that the discount only applied to people who owned the Caravan before the King Air was released. If not… yeah, that would be super!

Seems to be working OK. Love this thing. It what I started out with (B200) completely analog. This is what I’ve been missing since day one.

Just wanted to share that the FTSim sound package is a great addition to this fantastic product. I got it today and it makes a world of difference to the engine sounds.

Great job Black Square and the devs, this aircraft is GREAT!

I have to say the only realistic way to control engine parameters is by using custom tables with wasm+simconnect. You need to custom manage prop/throttle and mixture axes, custom write on Ng/Torque/FF/ITT etc variables and use conversion tables to display correct Prop RPMs.
With default MS code (xml based) it is simple not possible. Or it might be close to, but becoming a nightmare process!

As an example, somebody told about prop blades moving from feather to low pitch when moving prop levers out of feather, with the engine shut. Of course that is not possible in the real aircraft, and is actually very simple to replicate if you can capture prop lever axis and keep it in -25 percent (feather position) for any visual position of the lever when engine is off.

Anyway, I think would be fine in this case if some basic phases of flight can perform reasonably close to real, let’s say taxi on ground, climb/cruise/descent and landing, despite some engine gauge readings (ITT,Torque, etc) are a bit different than expected.

Wow. Blown away. This has elevated the King Air into one of the top aircraft in MSFS. It’s so nice. I anticipate a lot of flying hours in it. What a great job you guys have done with this. Credit where it’s due.

tried to find what R BL AIR OFF means, no success

anyone know that and why external power (thats is off) is blinking:?

Right bleed air off. In screen shot I can see left bleed air on but right might be off?
I’ve not been able to figure out how to fix the external power blinking either (noticed in a stream someone had same issue and couldn’t figure out how to turn off).

I turned the r bleed off and then on again and the annunciator turned off.

i think thats what happened here.

also where do i need to look when climbing using VS? where is the VS SPEED?

hit VS and then click the up button (on the rt) 1 click = 100 feet I think

So i went to the FTSim site and found the King Air package … but how do you buy it or get the file?
I see the patreon link, but surely I’m not expected to pay $10 a month for a sound file…

I can’t get them to work Would you know how to get the Asobo Global livery working?

For anyone interested, here’s a complete Flight Manual for a King Air 350.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/1ekbfr5lhr5458i/KA350_AFM.pdf

Note: There were very few (if any) analogue King Air 350s produced, so finding a Flight Manual is very difficult. Therefore the above is for a ProLine 21 equipped aircraft, and hence the avionics, and anything related to them, is not applicable .

Saying that, most normal procedures, and all the performance data should still be applicable to our aircraft.

Edit: And for those of you who don’t want the entire manual, and would just like some realistic cruise power settings, use this table below:
