Black Square Steam Gauge Overhaul - King Air 350i

TDS supports that and a whole lot more too.

I got it working on the HC Bravo. I’ll post the screen shots in a few minutes

Sesitivity

Could use a little tweaking on the deadzones but it works perfectly

Just curious here. How does this King Air stack up against the 414?
Both in mission and performance. As well as in simulation.

Thing that that i don’t really have anything 3rd party in between the small GA and Airliners.

Not sure what you mean by mission and performance.
Performance as in MSFS framerates and such? or actual engine performance??

on mission…I’d say it’s a basically a CJ4 with props as far as how it’s used.

The 414 max ceiling is basically the same as the KA, but this thing cruises at 310kts. Fastest cruise in the 414 was around 210… with a tailwind

Thank you, thinking engines yes.

However if there is a large fps performance difference that would be nice to know too.

Personally, I like the King Air better. Much better. It feels more like a simulation of a plane. I do kinda wish there were some of the “fun” features that the 414 has (opening doors, ability to walk around the cabin, static elements, passengers, tablet, etc), but systems wise, it’s fantastic. I’ve been bouncing around between this plane, the 310 and the 414.

I’d day the King Air and 414 perform around the same, maybe slightly better in terms of FPS.

Not that I noticed, but some have reported a decrease in FPS.

The climb rate that I get in the KA without stressing the engines is ~2500-2700 fpm @ 160-140kt all the way up to FL160

The 414 flight model is excellent. But if I have to give aircraft award of the year, it would be for the analog KA and the 208. And as for dev of the year, I would vote for Black Square as well.

Fan boy vibes here sorry….

inflatable ice boot animation too in the 414.
As far as the 414 and 310 though… 414 all day long for me.

yeah regarding the flight model side, me too I prefer the king air , the c414 is curious sometimes like he got issue similar to a twotter in wind,
while I love the also the higher capacity for mission (15 vs 8 ) with a funcional weather radar plus better failure system make it an uncontournable, I don’t have time to touch this cessna anymore and I sold mine with 0 regret in FSeconomy
also have 0 negative impact on fps
edit : would add , texture are better quality ( inside & instrument) in the king air,

I feel that the 414 is an aircraft whee you can relax slightly more. It has system depth, but nothing like the KA which you need to be a bit more on top of your game with. I love both types dearly, but havent really flown the 414 for a month or more now, though I will do when I need a bit of a change. Wish you could have asked this question about any other pair of aircraft and then it would have been easy.

I think I’m sold now on the King Air after wondering whether or not to buy it.

Just curious do you need to download the PMS 750 for this or does it come with a stock alternative?

This is great fun. I’m loving the last update.

How do I turn the Flight Director on and off. I know that it will be engaged when the AP is engaged but how do I turn it on manually and more importantly, how do I turn it off? My apologies for asking this as I know this was discussed on this thread just after release but I can’t go through 1,000 posts to find it.

Thank you for the solution! Works great.

I don’t see it in the aircraft, but you can assign a button to “TOGGLE FLIGHT DIRECTOR” to toggle it on and off. Just did it on mine, and it works

Yep, that’s what I ended up having to do. Seems unusual not to have a cockpit control though.

I was thinking the same thing.

fd turns off if you mash the a/p master button on the yoke a couple of times. whether that’s correct, real world behavior, i don’t know but that’s what works for me in the sim

Ah! That was it. Thank you but I would have thought that there would be an in-cockpit way of turning it on too without engaging the AP. Probably just the model/era of the aircraft/avionics. Pretty sure the dev wouldn’t have left it out if it was supposed to be there.
