I bought it (and the analog caravan) for the systems, engine, and failure modeling. Probably would have bought them even if they used the stock avionics instead of the analog instruments.
I will add, I forgot the time I was flying a lot the Asobo caravan EX, how it’s frustrating to have half of switches inoperative
Hello B350 enjoyers
I’m looking for some quick guidance concerning RNAV approach with vertical guidance.
My current avionics setup is the free version of the PMS GTN750 next to the Working Title GNS530 from the marketplace.
With CDI set to GPS and approach activated, I can’t seem to get approach mode on the autopilot panel to activate. That is, no glidepath appears and nothing happens when I press appr. I suspect this is because I am using the free PMS gtn750 mod which I don’t believe offers vertical guidance (I could be wrong about this).
If I was to only use the GNS530, or upgrade my GTN750 to one of the two payware options, would this solve my issue ?
Thanks in advance for any replies, I haven’t had the chance to test my suspicions in game yet.
Have you looked at the chart to verify this is an RNAV approach that actually provides a glide path? It must have LPV or LNAV/VNAV minimums.
Also, you must activate the approach in the flight plan.
well
what s sure it s that the default Asobo vertical guidance is bugged and most of time will not appear nor work, free pms50 GTN750 don’t offer this ability maybe (I m not sure) you can try their package with WT logic ( In-cockpit WTT Mode) but you will loose the ability to use other avionics and will be restricted on gps to use, also using the TDS gtn750nxi work fine
meanwhile actually the KA isn’t fully comptatible yet with the gns530 WT from the marketplace , devs had tough time with it , they recently achieved the process and will release an update soon (l hope so) I guess with the gns530 WT you will be able to get vertical guidance
thanks so much for the info, this answered all my questions
Hi, I’m considering this plane but need to know if the power levers work with the correct beta and reverse settings. I’ve read mixed explanations about asobos turbo prop idiosyncrasies and don’t want it if it’s not correctly implemented. I use the bravo throttles if that matters.
unfortunately, it s not,
also the reverse is bit strong
some words from JayDee , who has been helping a lot and did an insame work on this flightmodel
Thank you, I hope Asobo gets to fixing that soon. Can’t believe it’s been two years that they let that slip by. Should have been released with that working correctly. It’s a basic fundamental feature of turboprops.
Look at the stock kingair it has a very poor G3x instead of Collins avionics and not simulated anything more or less in the aircraft.
Yes, I just took it up for a spin. The panel looks like something from FS1. Black Square certainly did an amazing job! Too bad Asobo is so far behind… I’m thinking of picking up the BS king Air even without the modeled throttles.
There’s PLENTY (and the majority) of aircraft flying today with panels even older than the late 90’s setup showcased in the upcoming Baron and Bonanza.
In real life I love glass - it’s incredible. But in the sim I prefer mostly analog maybe with some G5’s and or TDS GTNXi’s… the gauges are easier to read too for the most part.
pleased to report your link with in-cockpit WTT mode for the PMS GTN750 fixed the issue and flew the gp flawlessly on an RNAV approach with vertical guidance. I never would have known about that extra download without your comment, thanks so much. It also worked if I removed the GTN750 completely and used only the GNS530, although I understand they have different limitations in terms of what approaches are acceptable between the two.
I think the next step to improve my analogue KA experience is to decide between the premium PMS GTN750 vs the TDS.
Love this aircraft
Hi everyone
With that last MSFS update, the engine 2 cant start some help about this ?
that s curious … are you sure the engine is in a good condition (looking in the weather radar sub menu, reset him, also check if there no active faillure)
if you suspect a bug, did you try removing other mods to exclud possible conflict ?
in last resort maybe reinstalling after a full uninstalled via windows parameters may fix this
PS : also you can test with clean controller profile to be sure it s not a binding conflict
Because I despise using it? I much prefer reading the dials. For navigation if I have to use a glass system I much prefer the 750.
This thing has more system depth than practically anything else, too.
System depth, realism (by far not every plane out there has glass), and for me, proficiency. If you can keep your instrument scan sharp while using a six-pack of steam gauges, going to the PFD on the G1000 is a piece of cake. The flows/setups on the G1000 are the hardest part of the transition, so it’s really good to have the ability to tackle either.
Dials & a 750 is the perfect combo for me I think. The big Garmins annoy me a little ( wierdly, given how much attention Garmin pays to usability ) - admittedly it’s good to be proficient, as you said.
Maybe because they find the G1000nxi boring?
Maybe because they want something very slightly more challenging?
Maybe because they want something occasionally a bit different from glass instruments?
Maybe because they prefer the look of the dials?
Maybe because … they just do.
Whatever the reason, developers realise that a lot of simers (me too!) prefer or occasionally like analogue gauges and realise that there is a good market for a steam gauge product. Personally, I can’t see a problem with this
Thank’s NIKo! fixed!
