If it is released exactly on Christmas then Kiribati will get it first?
This made me laugh
Weāre unsure at this time, so much we still donāt know about 2024.

G) Janet Airlines
Love watching these planes when I am in Las Vegas (work conferences and we always stay across from where the āJanetā terminal is located. They seem to come and go all day long. Pretty cool stuff.
Ah nice!!
I take it theyāre up to 737-600s now
Yeah, Iām guessing some of the 737-200s still in service in Canada (Air Inuit, Canadian North retired theirs a year ago) might have updated equipment, but the ones Iāve seen definitely donāt have glass cockpits. Hereās a Chrono Aviation 737-200 two years ago from a YT video:
And Canadian North definitely still had steam gauges with some newer FMS additions:
The one glass cockpit video I could find was Nolinorās 737-200 Combi.
From the press release, it sounds like the 737-200 glass cockpit is pretty rare (only about 50 200s are still flying total):
Iām way less interested in a glass cockpit version (I have to think most glass fans would be happy with the NG and MAX 737s), but if they simulate the gravel kits that are most of the reason these are still flying in Canada, I might consider it. Honestly, my initial reaction was that I flat out wouldnāt buy it with a glass cockpit, but assuming theyāre doing the Nolinor birds and that FS2024 will let you simulate the harsh ops these undertake, I might be back on board.
Some cool video of the Nolinor -200s on their websiteā¦
For the 200, this is a MUST:
Also these, since theyāre among the few 200s still in operation:
I assume Nolinor is a given, with the cockpit choice:
I was massively looking forward to the 737-200 but the glass cockpit is a major put-off. Itās based on a one-off Nolinor variant and would be so out of place with many vintage liveries. Just limits it to that one particular use-case.
Some of us appreciate listening to @Krazycolin talk and share inside info that weād otherwise never get to hear. No other developer besides Microsoft does anything like it, and MilViz/Blackbird is one of the very best in the business. A2A is the only other dev with military contracts and those guys hide their contracts from the community, whereas MilViz has it all published on their site.
That said the motivation was obviously to give updates and engage the community in a meaningful way. We got see the Zero for the first time, a new F4U was announced, we got a release window on three aircraft, lots of behind the scenes commentary, and an announcement for their new dev blog series.
I remember back in the day when MilViz was only known for producing artwork for aircraft books, so I appreciate where they started and where they are now.
Havenāt had time to watch the stream (wish I could have joined live, I for one appreciate that Blackbird does these!), but saw a recap that they are indeed doing the Nolinor birds. Makes sense, but I hope the feedback from the potential audience gets BB to reconsider doing steam gauges as well. Northern Canada ops with the Nolinor birds will be cool, especially if we get gravel FX for the remote landings, but I know a lot of the interest in the 200 is historic ops as well.
Also, ever notice how the 737-100/200 look like upscaled Me-262s? ![]()
Yeah, Iām definitely in the camp that I love developer updates. I have plenty of planes to fly while they work on new ones, and Iām definitely interested in hearing about new technologies being integrated, and everything else.
Weekly video updates is a bit much for me, but, Iām not their only customer, lol! ![]()
Ok ok⦠weāve put the analog cockpit back in playā¦
Sheeshā¦
@captnblckbird can you comment on the UH60? Why does it seem that has fallen by the wayside? Or when more news can be shared?
Thanks
Noting that your company initially reported work on the 737-200 back in 2020, is this a continuation of work after a pause, or is this a restart from new, or what?
If an aircraft is PC only, that leaves Xbox users out. Thatās the only reason Iād say make duplicates.
Donāt forget about the C130J , SR71, B1 , F16.
O yes the UH60. They showed it back when they had
āBlackbird State of the Sim February 2023ā .
starts @ 41:05
So long ago Feb 23. Still now news on UH 60. Let alone B1 we havenāt seen any visuals of progress.
