It’s VR that’s the problem. No fun to fly in the state VR is in. Hope they get this patch out soon. Patiently waiting Sucks when you’ve paid for something and you can’t use it!
Any word fro Milvis on patches and updates?
And not all the testers have addons that interfere with core files of the sim (airshow smoke thing). VR setups vary from user to user and no one on our team had the setup the caused the VR problems.
And then there are simply random bugs that mystify us because they are apparently connected to plucking a mandrake at midnight divided by the cube root of the square of the phase of the moon multiplied by the number of spots on the star Betelgeuse + the natural logarithm of the M100 galaxy RPM - the cotangent of Voyager 1’s antenna angle relative to the earth’s plane of orbit. We have countermeasures for these insane things only when we learn of their existence.
So, given the above, would it be fair to say that your beta testing was maybe a little optimistic?
Sounds about right.
Like I said, I was just kidding. I’m sure you guys wouldn’t have released the bird if you didn’t think it was ready for prime time yet. You are known for taking longer to get things right so this must be especially frustrating for you.
Nope. The standard development expectation is to get things working properly on a vanilla install of the sim. And then respond to issues caused by running anything but absolutely vanilla.
But wouldn’t it make sense to install some of the most common addons and also test against that? After all, who runs a vanilla build of the sim?
I am interested in the aircraft but for now, will come back in around six months or so to see how progress in the vanilla world is “progressing.”
Thats why devs outsource part if the testing phase to the public/registered testers. They have the addons so that the devs dont need them. Thats why some bugs are so hard to spot as there are infinite combinations of add ons that may not cause issues until paired with something else. There are no such thing as " the most common add on" as different people prefer different things in their sim. Some testers may fly exclusively GA, some exclusively Military, they purchase different enhancements for their enjoyment. But the only truly common denominator will be asobo live weather. Which the devs already have.
That’s fine as long as fixes are < 1 month (depending upon severity and length of time the product has been out).
Well you cant demand a timescale on fixes, thats just not cricket. Fixes get done when they have the time to devote to them.
Im sure right now they are busy eith console conversion and getting upto speed with what needs doing for the 2024 conversions and also as many top developers are doing polishing any products that come with 2024 (i think they are doing the crane helicopter thing) which as a contractual obligation comes well before customers chucking tiaras across ballroom and demanding stuff.
Patience is a virtue, if you dont have patience play ace combat instead
Sorry I don’t accept that. It’s a business. If I pay £40 for something and it’s faulty, I shouldn’t expect to have patience for months on end. Part of developing a product is ensuring you have the right customer support in place. If you haven’t, don’t do it.
I am glad I waited for reviews and surely won’t buy the T6A before the current issues are ironed out.
When the Iris PC-21 came out I did have some fun in it, so I am really interested in a really good military turbine trainer.
Before I buy from a developer I always check what their history of support has been since the sim launched and how timely they have been in the past with updates.
I find this a pretty good guide on the future level of support you will get and a good indication of how quick they will be to come out with future updates.
For now just remove everything from community folder except the taxan II, run the sim just with texan and fixes the issue. then put everything back in community folder.
You don’t need to do that. Just rename the Community folder (to like community.bak) create a new folder called Community and drop the aircraft in it.
Don’t forget that there can also be possibly interferring addons from the Market Place in the Official folder. It’s not that easy to take them out of the equation.
Fair enough.
