I have the Wildcat and the Hellcat, which are two aircraft I always had a huge affinity for.

I just didn’t fly them enough.

I pretended the Hellcat was an Avenger and flew the Flight 19 route in it, which was 2 years ago. I think that says it all.

I was reading Wikipedia last night, as I often do after I’ve settled into bed. I have a huge fascination with early oceanic aviation, particularly that of the US Navy during WWII. It is incredible to me how these pilots would head out over the open ocean in a small aircraft with the kinds of navigational equipment they had at the time. Now, I fly the Zero all the time. It’s like a Cessna to me, now — an easy aircraft for a no big lead-up/configuration flight. I have been enjoying flying in Japan and sightseeing in it. When I’m flying something else, I find myself wanting to be back in the Zero.

Dunno, maybe it just smells right, ha!
