been looking for a pic to confirm. Thanks thought my rudder was off for ages
Ok so the KN62 Panel Mount DME has not worked since I purchased this aircraft, and I was just wondering when we would see a fix…. As I would like to be able to put it to use…
i can only assume you mean Xbox installation ?
Yes, but it works in every other aircraft that I own….
ASBO are aware of a fault in their WASM Module and are endeavouring to fix it .
You will also fine that No New Aircraft will be made available n the marketplace that rely on Custom Wasm Code until they have fixed it.
Our code works perfectly in the PC Versions
Sorry but there is nothing more we can do …
No worries, I hope they sort it out soon…
Hey, just bought this fun plane. Flies quite nice but the nose is very happy to jump up even at like 30kts and even when fully loaded she climbs way too fast. On 25" map she climbs easely at around 1300ft/m at sealevel and 20deg celcius. At takeoff at full power even more.
I found that the cruise setting of 20" map gets it closer to the real climb rate of around 800/900ft/m
Is this something that will be looked at when the study level update comes?
Other then that it does handfly very nice and really enjoying the sounds too.
Yes I was using this one for a while but other AC have come along and…well …you know…boys and their toys
100% yes without fear of contradiction
Awesome, very good to hear. Will make it even more fun to fly.
PLEASE NOTE !
I have received many Many emails complaining that the BN2 Islander will not fly !!
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT HI FIDELITY MSFS DESIGNED PRODUCT WILL ONLY RUN IN MODERN FLIGHT MODEL … Legacy is for “ported” FSX and lower quality products …
remember please MODERN FLIGHT MODEL in General Options
Thank you
Question about the actual variant of the BN2. Didn’t see it in the discussion. Which variant is the default Blackbox livery? Is it the BN-2Af-2 (-3, -4, -5, etc.)?
Thanks!
M.
Hey gang!
Our beloved little BN-2B Islander has been “in the shop” for a while getting her makeover. I’m excited to see what she’s like once she’s had the makeover.
Do you have a Honeycomb Bravo throttle quadrant? Do you also have the BlackBox Simulation BN-2B Islander?
I’ll just leave this here…
These are from a shop on Etsy called “iDigStuff” run by a nice guy named Doug. Are there about 400,000 people on Etsy producing Honeycomb Bravo 3D Printed levers? Yes. I like Doug’s stuff because he incorporates aluminum into the design on the little “arm” part that goes between where the lever connects to the bravo and the handles / grips.
I picked up a set of levers from another manufacturer (not on Etsy) for the Trislander. They look the business, but when I go to advance all three throttles at the same time, I can feel them flex inwards towards the #2 engine lever. To date, I have not found that Doug’s levers do that. The aluminum portions add much appreciated rigidity.
For some reason I hadn’t noticed that Doug made a set of Islander levers, so I purchased those a little earlier today. I’ve got a bunch of his stuff already (DHC-6, Ju-52, C310R/C414, and a C208 torque lever) - all very high quality and very recommended.
- I am not receiving any compensation or special treatment for this. I have purchased everything at his advertised prices, and will continue to do so. I just like to let like-minded folks know of good quality stuff for our hobby! Doug is a good dude, and I think it benefits us all to have people like him producing more flight sim stuff!
What about for us peasants stuck with the BN-2A?
Thanks for the heads up - with tax & shipping to the UK it adds 50% ( so they end up being about the price of a pair of saitek quadrants! ) but if they last & feel solid, probably not a bad buy. If they were in stock, anyway.
How’d you get in here? Did you chew through your rope again? (rolls up newspaper)
You are absolutely correct. I was being exclusive instead of inclusive!
BN-2, BN-2A, BN-2A-2, BN-2A-3, BN-2A-6, BN-2A-7, BN-2A-8, BN-2A-9, BN-2A-10, BN-2A-20, BN-2A-21, BN-2A-23, BN-2A-24, BN-2A-25, BN-2A-26, BN-2A-27, BN-2A-30, BN-2A-41, BN-2B-20, BN-2B-21, BN-2B-26, BN-2B-27, BN-2T, Islander AL1, Islander CC2 and CC2A, and last but not least, Maritime-Defender.
Oh trust me, I hear 'ya. The Trislander stuff coming back the other way to Hawai’i from the UK was crazy. I want to say the levers were 20 pounds and the shipping was like 37! I’m not the smartest guy in the class, but … probably the only one with a set of levers in Hawai’i for what that’s worth. My Dad used to tell me in situations like that, “That and $5 will get you a cup of coffee in most airports.”
As for the levers, if there is interest, either let me know or give Doug a shout over at Etsy. He’s got the modeling done, so it’s “just” a matter of firing up the 3D printer! (says the guy who has never printed a thing in his life.)
Do we know already if the makeover islander will be a paid upgrade to the previous version or a completely separate product?
I don’t remember money being mentioned. There is a third option!
I find it utterly amazing that people continue to use Legacy mode. I don’t even know why it’s even available as a choice in the general options. It should be a dev mode option. They totally broke any FSX compatibility literally as soon as the product was released.
