Is it coincidence that the three you cite, with the brilliant option to show copilot and pax avatars, are consistently voted in the top three by the community? I wonât buy another addon plane with permanently empty seats.
be Sorry to lose you as a customer
Entirely reasonable reaction. After all, thatâs whatâs important in flightsimming! Passengers!
I must confess that I have come to appreciate bags of Portland cement so much I want other devs to start including them.
I guess I shouldnât be surprised that customers ask for so many diverse things that to me arenât core components of a MSFS aircraft, For my part I always think of it this way, would I prefer devs to spend a hundred hours modelling pax or a hundred hours improving flight model and systems, itâs an easy choice for me, and BBS aircraft are top quality add ons in my opinion. Hence the Islander and Trislander aircraft both get a lot of my time as does the L19 bird dog which is a great tail dragger to fly.. Iâm looking forward to the 330 and donât particularly want( or care about) 30-odd passengers modelled in 3D. (Just the Portland cement?)
Ok think you miss the point. Immersion is a big thing in any sim.
Loading a plane with invisible weight should really not be the norm for much longer. Specially on small planes. .
That is why we see both visible cargo and passengers.
I too love the visible cargo in the Isander and Trislander.
Tbh weight and placement are a very big thing. Also how pax irl will obscure vision. Which can only be simulated with visible pax/cargo.
It is something that makes sense. The sim and planes evolve no reason why visible pax and cargo should be scoffed at.
I donât think I missed the point at all. I was pointing out that different flight simmers clearly have different priorities.
And that saying âIâm not buying a plane because it doesnât simulate visible passengersâ is absurd, in my opinion. The PMDG 737 doesnât have passengers.
Gentlemen.. (Ladies ?)
We do understand the different needs, dare I say âDemandsâ Of the customer.
however, as we have stated previously and I will repeat here the following âŠ
Until such time as the quality and functionality of any 3d Passengers are easily available and will not greatly impact performance of the Aircraft or visuals, they will remain Omitted from BBS Products.
AT this time, the only thing available (without going into vast development expense and timescales) are a few Low Polygon, static âZombiesâ and we feel these detract from the high quality of the Base Product. I openly request for example that Asobo Make available more than just PILOT.0 and PILOT.1 in the build process at least allowing us to utilize their reasonable quality, animated characters from the Avatar list (Uniforms can be changed)
Hope this eases the terrible suffering somewhat
Yes airliners are not really the target here. The door is locked anyways.
And true not buying a plane because of it is silly, for now.
I do think though in say 5 years most small planes released will feature pax and cargo.
Perhaps even animated pax by then.
Again it is for the immersion, why airliners get those addons that bring pax that walk, fuel trucks etc and stuff like FS realistic. All for immersion.
Thing is, if those things will not be incuded at some point, a dev will fall behind.
The 2-3 most popular GAâs both feature cargo, pax, along with graphics and sound, tablet functions etc damage being added.
Bells and whistles are important and i really believe they will become more and more important in the whole package.
I speak just for me but i think they are important and do weigh more and more when deciding what plane to buy.
P.s. Look at the Wilga, adding even a bloody guitar.
MFS is setting new standards wether they are important for you or me is for us to decide but releases will be judged by what else is being done by others.
A very good point, which has been overlooked in this discussion so far. The doors are inop on all the default aircraft even after ten sim updates and there MUST be a logical reason for it, known only to XBox and Asobo Studios, but what if it DOES involve animated crew and passengers who can board and un-board a flight automatically?
Got my bravo set up on xbox when using it to select altitude the plane does it but the autopilot panel doesnât show the altitude ive selected or VS
Is anyone else having problems operating the flaps with v2.0?
I use one of the keys on my Saitek X52 Pro to operate the flaps but it wonât work with v2 (no problem with other aircraft).
X55 here flaps work fine however the handle inside the plane is stuck for me.
They do operate however and the indicator works as well.
Thanks I will have another look I only had time for a short flight last night
The Flaps switch is a Momentary Up/Dwn spring loaded with a return to centre ..
Perhaps its a little to quick to see ?
However dont expect the Flap lever to stay in an âup / downâ position as thatâs not how it is designed
I believe it does not move at all in the V2 for me. In the V1 it very visibly moved.
Iâll recheck if i remember tonight because now i am a bit unsure haha.
It moves, it just does not move when you use any sort of key binding to it.
I.E. if I use my mouse pointer I can see the lever going down and spring back up as expected, if I use the throttle key binding the flaps work but the lever does not move. Minor that is as if I use the throttle binding it means I am not looking at the lever, however yes the animation is sort of glitched if you look at it that way
The behaviour you describe if perfectly normal for this type of switch in MSFS. It is also the same with other aircraft. The virtual switch only moves if you use it to operate the flaps. This is a little different in the Islander with it being only a momentary action.
Flaps Increment and Flaps Decrement (I think those are the terms) are what I use for binding, though I have mine bound to key commands) There are also full up and full down commands available. I have all four bound on F5-F8, same as they were in FS9, simply because thatâs whatâs familiar to me. Some habits die very hard.
quick q: are the generator amps supposed to be so high theyâre off the scale? just started up and flipped left gen on.
Iâd noted that, too. Amperage like that too long and the armature will fling all its solder out!
