BlueBird Simulations 757

Great video, personally I don’t care if it is cloud based as long as it works but for a developer that may be different.

I’m already digging up 757 routes from 2000 till today to be ready when this bird comes out. One question, is a 753 also in the works or will it be 757-200 for now?

I don’t want cloud based aircraft or airports for that matter I want it on my Hdd. When will this addon release 2027?

For you my friend, we’ll make sure you can’t get it until 2045

We’re working on both the 200 and 300 for the initial release. However we may just release the 200 first and then include the 300 as a free update soon after. That’s still up for debate. Either way, for the price you pay , you will be entitled to both the 200 and 300 pax version.

Cool. Looking forward to it and more images

a very long in the tooth project. multiple years and no release in sight. this plane was plenty good enough, looks nice, flew and more, and originally was going to be mid level skill, which would please the masses. but now it got changed to hard core systems to please the few and create extended delays. just release it as is and then add a hard core version or patch later.

my guess is there will be silence for months, or only in depth system videos that majority dont care about, then come the expo they will say release is aimed for Q3

Reading the comments from ‘the majority’ on unfinished products I totally understand the choice to release when it’s actually finished.

Well it depends on how you define it. Because at some point in the past the plane was likely finished if the goal stayed as a basic to intermediate complex plane. But they change it to be very complex so thus the goal post moved. What I’m saying is, more devs should release variations as to avoid continuous delays for casual users while still delivering to intricate users.

But yes, I’m looking forward to this as a casual user. I won’t use it properly in terms of systems, I’ll just hot start load an go. But to have a nice looking and sounding 757, as we have none, would be great. But yes, if captain sim made a 757 for $20 I’d buy it as it would suffice my wants.

I can’t wait to take it on Deltas route which is one of the shortest routes for the 757 (which would be a great activity for this payware aircraft) Atlanta to Savannah

One of the shortest routes, about 40+ minutes. Lookup the registrations of some Delta 757’s like N649DL. Just a few examples:

Cleveland - Detroit, 28 minutes
Newark - White Plains, 20 minutes
Toronto - Buffalo, 20 minutes
Boston - Providence, 20 minutes
Tucson - Phoenix, 28 minutes

I have gathered more then 1000 actual 757 flights and there are some really nice routes available.

BlueBird was getting near completion when they decided that the current programmer wasn’t fulfilling their expections, so they had to start from scratch.
The model was always going to feature ‘study-level’ depth. That’s their decision as the developer. Our decision is whether we want to pay what they ask for what they’ve produced.

There are plenty of devs out there who make less complex models. Whether they make a 757 is up to them. Maybe they’ll grant your wish. Maybe not.

I’ll do my best to keep it brief here. I appreciate your input. If you think it’s “long in the tooth” for you, trust me, it is 1000 times more long in the tooth for me my friend. But as I have said several times, we don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. If we release some subpar aircraft, that is how people will judge us. You mention that if CS made a 757 you would buy theirs. That is perfectly fine and not to bash CS, but if that is the level of airplane you are looking for, then our airplane might be too much for you and it will certainly cost more than $20. At the end of the day, we decided to aim high and hopefully be seen as one of the top developers in the FS industry. Aiming for low level aircraft does not get us there. Could we release the 757 in a month, sure but it would be incomplete and completely ruin our first impression. That is never a risk I am willing to take my friend. I have been dreaming for the 757 release for almost 4 years. There is a very faint light at the end of the tunnel finally but we are not going to rush anything out or make any more timeline predictions until we are 100% sure.

Glad there’s some light. Looking forward to it, despite the length. If there’s no other 757 option, by time of your release, then as I said I’ll still buy it regardless of its above $20 cost and complexity, because I want a 757 in my inventory and I’m perfectly happy using it in my way- hot start, runway, throttle up brakes off takeoff and fly in chase mode. Rudimentary. Folks say pmdg is a waste for me too, but I do the same- I enjoy their high end looks and sounds but skip systems.

Good luck on finishing and please include the United Airlines battleship gray livery.

This is looking really awesome :eyes:

I’m as antsy for it as the next guy, but I’m happy to wait for this level of depth. It looks like it’s going to be absolutely phenomenal.

Beats me how a brand new developer with no products released can keep the lights on for a project like this, but hat’s off. I don’t see how this one could possibly be disappointing when we finally get our hands on it.

At this level of detail I’ll buy any version just to support this.

Good Lord, I’m like the guy above, will buy any version just to support this level of detail. I’m so excited!

This certainly looks comprehensive but I worry about performance. I get these are preview videos of a completely un-optimized product but things sure looks choppy and low frame rate in the video. Hope they can improve that.

Also, and speaking in general, I wish this company would “Talk less, airplane more.” People complain about other companies releasing preview images and a few paragraphs 6 months before release. These guys have been talking about this plane for literally years now. My suggestion (which is probably not popular): stop talking, finish the plane and wow the customers (the iFly approach).

Well the FS community is littered with the bones of projects that looked great on preview, but stunk on release(aka Sky DC-9, FS2024, etc)

Yes, we are impatient for a study-level 757. Probably cause us old-timers have PTSD from the greatest vapourware FS project of all time—the Level-D 757.

So let them get this right, last thing we need is another DC-9 fiasco or some wannabe you-tubbers trashing this cause we didn’t let them finish the project.

Just don’t take as long as Level-D…

But when developers don’t say anything at all, then people get mad that they aren’t providing updates or make assumptions that the project is dead. I for one appreciate the updates because we know it’s being worked on. When it’s released, I for sure will pick this up, but more than happy to wait until it’s completed.

Completely agreed. This one has been in the oven for a long time which is not always a good thing. Hope it does not turn out like the Aerosoft 330 as I’d love to have a great 757. Fingers and toes crossed.
