Oh, okay. I misunderstood you there. Then please ignore that part of my post.
Yes, that’s right. That’s a benchmark by which Asobo must be measured. Well, at least I hope that’s their company philosophy and not just a “behave yourselves” for the forum.
Sometimes I really wonder what’s going on inside this people.
I don’t want to offend anyone, but your Mike Tyson quote was very apt.
It’s just strange they barely respond when you talk back. But anyway, that’s fine with me.
The sad thing is that those extreme gamers are probably less than 1% of the total community and yet Asobo jumped as soon as they didn’t like something.
I will never understand what goes on in their heads to think that they can dictate how others play.
VFRMap was the only thing giving total freedom to how career can be played. And since it’s been dissabled there really isn’t any point in playing career unless you have 10h a day to play the game.
77 votes and counting. I think the community has show where it stands. Now lets see if Asobo cares about us or are the points in the COC just lies.
I found out about it later. I’m using it now and it’s working. But the bottom line is that we are talking about the level of complexity of a career. We also need to monitor the fuel mixture.
3rd party career modes for MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020 offer a lot more realism for enthusiasts and harcore simmers. Thats the reason they use platforms like:
OnAir
Neofly
FS Economy
Air Hauler
etc.
So they will not play MSFS career mode for long anyway. Career mode will never get that detailed oder realistic as those offerings.
If you want more realism you have much better options than MSFS career mode.
So why arguing with casuals if you want more realism and have mmore than one option to get it???
At this point the career mode is to arcade feeling so yes teleport should be available.
If they really want to make it realistic there are many things to change.
You reputation only affects the bonus payment. In real life a pilot with a bad reputation would have limited access to work. Right now no matter you reputation you always have the same missions available. It also bounces to much since 1 mission with C drops you from S down to C. Destination airports do not factor the landing distance of the plane you have.
I got 1 mission where i would have to land in a lake. In the summer it’s probably dry and you can land there. But it was not when I flew hence the mission should not have been available. I lost a little over an hour with that mission that could not have been completed. With teleportation I could have easily made it up but no. It had to be removed.
Everyone is acting like the world will end if some if us will be abble to teleport in a SINGLE PLAYER mode. I can fly the plane with a gamepad while lying down on my couch, wearing underwear, eating pizza and drinking alcoholic beverages. It’s not what I do but I could if I wanted to. Is that realistic? No it’s not. So why do we have to pretend that the career is the same as real life?
Pre launch, the developers themselves in the below live stream said:
“The career mode is (meant to be) a sim mode… basically there’s progression. We want people to use aircraft that will allow them to make progress in the career… …we want to make sure it doesn’t break the career progression. How do we do that?” Goes on to explain they want to vet addon aircraft to ensure it’s “compatible” with missions types. IE, not offering unfair advantages etc.
Listen for yourself:
Use of time acceleration and teleportation breaks the progression developers intend career mode to have. Its simple. Career mode is not meant to be a free for all.
Cool. Then they need to fix all the career breaking bugs and performance issues BEFORE removing ways to get around them so we can continue our progress.
They didn’t do a good job at veting the aircraft since you have missions where the runways are too short for landing the specific aircraft.
I’m really not gonna spend an hour and a half listening to find a bit of info. You guys hate teleportation so much. Isn’t skipping the same thing? The only difference being you get to decide where it teleports you and not getting a financial penalty.
You probably watched the video. Did they mention teleporting anywhere?
Progression is made either way since you have to unlock certifications and licences to get different jobs. If they didn’t directly state what they meant by that it could be anyones guess what they meant.
And again we’re circling back to the point of what advantage exactly? Are there any leaderboards or anything similar online for career? What would it affect if they enabled teleporting again.
The career has so many bugs it should be renamed bug simulator. And yet it looks like that teleporting is a bigger issue to some than bugs that literaly break the game.
Look at my previous post the 3rd paragraph and tell me if that is realistic in the curent career mode.
Your post to disable it got 3 votes. This one to get it back has 87. Should Asobo listen to what the majority of players want or not?
Don’t forget that the majority of players are casuals that don’t want to grind months to be able to buy a plane in career. And what will happen when/if they leave? Do you really think Asobo is going to continue the same support to the game if there’s 500 people playing it?
We’re not demanding anything new to be added. We want something that was present since launch to be enabled again.
Not one of the people that don’t want teleporting has answered how our abillity to teleport affects them. Can anyone give a normal answer to this?
As far as I know most of us are from countries that have democracy which means we all know how voting works. We all had the abillity to vote either way on this post or the one that wanted teleporting dissabled. So far it’s 87 for and 3 against. It’s pretty clear what the majority of the community wants.
I would really like and official answer from someone at Asobo on this matter. If only the hardcore players opinions matter then simply tell us so we don’t waste time with this.
VFRMap’s teleport should be enabled again if the whole community really matters. Most of us want it back. Those who don’t simply don’t have to use it.
The career mode is far from realistic that’s why they mentioned those mods for people that want it to be as realistic as possible.
Not everyone is going for immersion with the career.
This whole post has become about opening up the game for everyone and not closing it so that the handfull of hardcore players are happy that we have to play as they want us to.
Most of the people that voted probably didn’t do so because of the reasons OP posted. But we all want the same thing. It’s about the freedom to play the career as you want.
