I guess with perhaps issues from the FS20 Dune Expansion needing custom scenery, that it’s going (hopefully) through some rework but isn’t immediately compatible.
But in the meantime… can we get the Ornithopter added to the library?

Allow me to explain my earlier reaction.
It’s absolutely not my intent to degrade people who want to weed around with fantasy aircraft.
It’s simply not my cup of tea, that’s all.

Ornithopter, Darkstar, and the Redbull Cubcrafters plane are all missed in '24. Hope they find a way over.

No one is forcing you to download it and fly it.
It could also be a licensing issue, it’s possible the Dune licence might only be for 2020, not 2024 so they may need to renegotiate it if they want to bring it back.
I’d also like to see the Halo Pelican back. Maybe when the marketplace is enabled.

I think we don’t have the Ornithopter & Darkstar because of expired licensing with their respective movie company.
Best we can hope for is ask Microsoft to bring back that beautiful Brown Dune Wallpaper as a login screen. Don’t we all miss it.

At least in the case of the Pelican we can copy our FS20 version into the FS24 community folder and have it appear in game.
That’s at least as good as some of the other aircraft that have been carried over without the necessary features to make them work. Just try the Waco glider for example…
The encryption on the Darkstar and the Ornithopter prevent even that from working.
I did install it when it came out for FS2020. Then my woes began. All my custom Joystick bindings ceased to work. All my progress on Bush Flights and Landing Challenges vanished.
Logged an incident with Microsoft Support who basically put their hands in the air and said “If the progress has gone, they can;t get it back”.
I unistalled the Dune update and found some of the basic joystick bindings returned but the many hours of Bush Flights and Challenges have gone for good.
Discussing with Steam, despite Flight Sim uploading to the cloud, nothing on there can be usefully brought back down as a back up.
Flight Sim, unlike many other Steam games, does not allow you to make a local backup.
