The Skyvan family definitely fit that bill, as does the Twin Pioneer - looks like a bunch of different aircraft all at the same time! looking at it it does look like you could successfully fly it on it’s side, that’s quite a lot of tail…
Don’t think I’ve ever managed to see one, unlike the Dove/Herons. The Heron definitely fits the bill of replacing two underpowered engines with four even more underpowered engines…
