Broken jetways at some airports

On a similar note …

KSLC. I love what they’ve done with the place.

The jetways were owned, the terminal buildings leased, and they let the contract expire.

Hey, check out T3 at FRA. They’re following MSFS’s example

Just an FYI I did see some broken jetways in FS2024 on some images pre-release. I assume that broken jetways will never be fixed because they had problems since late 2021 and the only way to fix it is to buy 3rd party airports.

Well, maybe they should use the same technique where they detect trees, bridges, houses, windmills etc. Include the detection of a jetway. There MS/Asobo, I fixed it for you. Use your incredible AI to solve this.

Under the April 10th posting on the flight simulator homepage, In the sim update 2 beta release notes April 8, 2025, under General Bug Fixes near the top, it says “fixed broken jetways not connecting”.

Is that for FS2024? I have been having broken jetways in FS2020 ever since I bought the sim and as recently as a few days ago. That lead me to buying KDEN airport because it was annoying to land then deboatd passengers with GSX and the jetways are not even connected to the building.

As far as I know this jetways issue still exists. I noticed the jetway issue after just flying in KLAX now. Same with the black lines on water surface (in 2024 as well).

Hopefully they’ll offer the fix in 2020 as well. Going on 4 years now…

At least in 2020 the “global fix” for this is to buy one of three global jetway replacement products available online. At least two are in the marketplace by small independent devs for the minimum price, and the third is a more comprehensive ground operations handling product from FSDreamteam that includes jetway replacements as an option.

The fix is for the 2024 latest beta sor SIM update #2.

I have experienced the broken jetways since the 2020 version too as well as in the 2024 version.

I have one of the 3rd enhanced jetway packages. Didn’t fix the broken jetway issue for me. Airports vary and it seems for me if I fly from one to another. Taxiing around an airport without flying from A to B seems to leave the jetways intact.

I’ve installed FSDT GSX Pro 3.4.7 and this issue is still present (noticed at KLAX).

Correction…

The issue is not present. Once you use the 3rd party exclusion within the GSX config menu.

Also want to add the following to this bug report. If the jetway is there it often happens that the position is wrong. Lots of times when starting at the gate you end up having your cockpit inside of the bridge. I don’t think I’m the only one who notices these things. Example at Albuquerque:

It’s a problem that’s been going on for years, but Asobo has no intention of fixing it. Or is it because he lacks the skills?

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

If relevant, provide additional screenshots by/video:

hello. I’m new to this forum [well not entirely new. I signed up and became a member quite some time ago. And discovered, even before I could post, that my profile was broken beyond repair. I left it alone for some great time (two years). And now I’m back with my new profile that works].
Nonetheless, I finally purchased MSFS2024 (MSSTORE PC version) Standard edition. For $69 and some change.
I noticed this version right off the back comes with SU1. So with that, I don’t have the “Flight Assistant” feature. I’m hoping that with all this time this new sim has been out there, with all it’s initial issues, that the Microsoft Team of developers, has fixed most of this issue, up to this time?
I do own MSFS2020. And it has the lovely, “Flight Assistant” feature.
Can you help me discover why I’m not seeing this feature in MSFS2024? Or can you point me in the right direction to get it imbedded in the game?
I’m hoping it’s in SU2, or 3, etc?

Thanks, for whatever help you can provide.

OP’s steps to reproduce it?
I’m not sure how to answer this one. I’m so sorry. In this forum I don’t even have a “New Topic” button. I guess I will forward my post to the Admins?

Albuquerque, KABQ, same setup only a different day with broken jetway(s).

Oklahoma International, KOCK, ‘floating’ jetways
