Yeah these banding lines around the sun is just horrible and erodes the immersion of flying at around sunrise/sunsets. I have to actively keep my camera view pointed lower and away from the sun so I donât have to keep looking at these terrible lines around and above the horizon
Seb just said they found the problem for color grading this morning and is fixed, but we wont have it in SU7 tomorrow, but the next update after
You beat me to it :).
Wonderful news⊠weâll have to wait for SU8, but they found out what caused it and fixed it.
Seb is answering this as I type. Itâs going to be fixed in the update after SU7.
Apparently, the colors were changed from 16 bit to 10 bit on accident in Su5.
Personally, I wish if they could just push it as a hotfix because of how drastic this is for so many people. Anyways, weâll wait and see if this really gets fixed.
come on we must wait 3 months, if only they drop a hotfix for this issue
we might be ââluckyââ with SU7 and have a major bug thatâll required a hotfix, and have that bug fixed at the same time
Didnât make it to the beginning of the Q&A, so thanks to all for updating the thread.
Tomorrow would have been great, but I think the fact that it is recognized and will be fixed is huge. Iâm not sure why it took so long to identify though, because it was very obvious from day1 after SU5 that something was wrong with the visuals.
Thx to all involved, especially to @sydicek for starting the thread.
Thank you Asobo for the fix. Im okay with waiting for it in a upcoming update, just glad they are aware of it/have a fix. And thanks all of you in the threads pushing for this.
It was a team effort, boys. Well done. At some point itâs going to come. Thatâs all I care.
Canât wait to stare at the sky on screen again (without eye floaters :)) )
As long as they donât forget about it by then, or something else changes and renders the fix useless. Given people have been pointing it out for months and theyâve only just realised, it doesnât fill me with a huge amount of confidence, but hereâs hoping.
Let us also hope this fixes the issues with clouds as well.
Just had this, on ULTRA, awful.
This is great news. So glad it has been officially acknowledged and a solution found. It is a pity that we have to wait 3 more months to see the fix. Thatâs 7 months to fix something broken by accident. But at least we finally have a date. Happy all on here refused to let this issue drop.
Believe they said the fix has been implemented in a future build, just not in the build set for release Tommorow. I donât think theyâd forgot since itâs already an applied fix on their end. I trust them
Great news. I hope the faulty AA/Shimmering gets fixed as well!
Amazing, happy that it finally got acknowledged and fixed. Wonder how they accidentally changed the rendering engine from 16 to 10bit?
Do you feel this relatively minor cosmetic issue that doesnât affect how you fly in any way other than your appreciation of certain lighting conditions really warrants a hotfix?
whatâs wrong with a hotfix? If they know about an issue and can solve it easily then I would hope for a hotfix.
But I canât see how this would fix the other cloud issues like grainy or blobby or ashy. I donât see grainy clouds myself but I know they exist. Blobby and ashy Ive definitely seen.
Nothing in principle, from your point of view. But you have to factor in their own internal processes. Iâm sure someone will scoff here, but you donât just push out patches to a global audience willy nilly.
It would likely have no effect on clouds either.
i think it definitely should have effects on clouds. The color banding should be gone.
I also think they will not hotfix this issue. But perhaps another one and they include this.
Am I going crazy, or does it seem like SU7 brought a slight improvement in the banding? The banding lines in the sky are still present and distinguishable but seems a lot fainter
