Fingers crossed it will be released shortly, not done any flying since this issue was found

Wednesday if we’re lucky, Friday more realistically, next week if we’re unlucky.

maybe today if we’re very lucky

Surprised we haven’t seen some sort of update on the update. I kind of consider this somewhat a priority for Xbox users. I haven’t done any night flights in a week now.

I am also surprised we have heard no more…

They’re working on it. Expect Friday.

It seems the problem lies in resolution scaling, anything on 70% and under there is no night lightning, the best setting is of course 100% but there the frames goes to half. Whatever they have said that patch 5 will bring a lot of performance to the sim goes out the window. Also anything above 100% the lights will start floating in the air. To me it sems more like they shut off or degrade other things to get the performance. I have a hard time seeing Asobo/Microsoft updating something without breaking something else. Will have to hold off buying any addons until there is going to be improvements. Best is, take the original game code and start over.

Same here can’t use the VR anymore at night

 Still nadda

Of course. We’ll be lucky to have it Friday.

When is the next Sim Update due? Isn’t it before the end if the month? :face_with_monocle:

Unless they’ve changed that, I’d put my money on that being when the fix arrives. Edited to add I just looked and SU6 has been kicked into next month, so you would hope the hotfix comes before then

That said, would it really kill them to put out a simple ‘how gozit’ update on what is a pretty massive problem? Even if the update was ‘it’s proving tricky to fix and we want to get it right so it won’t be this week etc’, it is better than nothing.

I have been running since I got my new computer a few weeks ago with render scale 70 and today, while landing in Barcelona, I realised the lights were floating (funny, I had read here that render scale >100 caused floating lights, render scale <100 caused no lights).
Anyway, I set render scale to 100 during the flight, my GPU usage jumped from 60-70% to 90-100%, the lights problem got solved immediately and my frames stayed the same (I have them capped to 30). And, best of all, I realized the A320NX panels look amazingly crisp and I can read well all the waypoint names in the ND!
I have to see if this visual performance is sustained in the next days (my GPU is a modest 3060Ti) without side effects such as stutters or CTD but if this gets confirmed then blessed be this bug, which opened my eyes to pure 4K visuals!

I get squares like a honeycomb pattern. See screen shot below.

Those are sliders for LODs.

You need to set your render scale to 100%.

RTFQ.

I really can’t see a fix coming this week. Why development say nothing more on this?

If they’ve submitted they’re waiting for certification.

Oh I thought it was just me. You guys experienceing the same issue.
