Dude,

I just want a definitive answer from you on this. Do we keep your fix or not?

EDIT: I know it sounds whiny hehehe.. but you’re the only expert is this so please weight in. If they’ve indeed implemented everything you have then we can remove, if they missed entries then no, naw mean. So have they?

You are mistaken, all the buildings from my shot, tall office blocks are also in your shots, why doesn’t it work for me :frowning:

Thanks, this has removed the many skyscrapers in my little town. Now it looks again as I know it. I think I will just uninstall the MFS tomorrow and reinstall it cleanly. Who knows which folders are still corrupt after the update. Thanks a lot. :+1:t2: :+1:t2: :+1:t2:

These buildigns look normal to me pretty much. There are some weird buildings here and there but it’s way better than it was.

It is fixed because in some areas I KNOW that this happened, these tall buildings are not present and they were there.

Since I know my town, I can get a direct comparison, ill load back up.

You have to remember that some tall buildings (2/3 stories) is alright to have.

In sim my building is not that accurate either. There are going to be problems for sure, but you can’t 100% fix the autogen, because, as the name suggests, it’s autogen.

I know that, like I said before the last 2 patches, my town looked ok for not being photogrammetry, yes there was an odd building here and there, but my town remains the same as last 2 patches not prior.

That did not fix it for me. I had already installed the two small Japan-Updates. Only the manual deletion of the bf-pgg-folder helped.

I compared your photo you provided with the screenshot. Truly, a lot of the buildings match, atleast 85% is accurate. I have some tall buildings on the edges, but that’s about it, they are never taller than typical housing.

Here’s what everyone should do..I deleted everything in my community folder to the recycle bin. KEEP everything in your recycle bin. Then launch the game, the content manager should now load up. Find all the files that aren’t updated, maybe 2 or 3…then update those…make sure everything says “up to date” THe Japan file should fix the big ridiculous buildings globally. Once that is done, exit the game, go to your recycle bin, highlight all files, then right click and hit restore. that should put everything back…all your planes, etc. Load the game again, and it should be all fixed. This is a temp solution until they get their heads out of their ■■■■■. Every time there is an update on content manager, this needs done until they actually fix it.

to be honest, if mods are breaking the game/updater, maybe the mods are at fault?

edit: I just read through a topic where buggy modded liveries were causing the updater to hang up due to shabby coding (extra commas, too many brackets etc etc). Don’t be too quick to point the finger at MS/Asobo when it could well be down to mod makers.

Done every step, including deleting rolling cache. Apart from reinstalling mods, my community folder remains empty. Till I find out why everything still looks terrible.

Install the mod then compare. If game looks exactly like it does now for you, then it was never an issue.

If it’s different, report.

thats right, but we still need a fix no matter who coded wrong. This seems to work. We need to know exactly what mod, so we can edit the code to fix it. I guess this means a lot of trial and error

First thing I did was install luckys fix, and everything went back to lovely 1-2 story gloriness. As soon as I removed it, bang these tall buildings come back.

Make comparison shots then instead of saying it. If we can’t see it, can’t really tell if you’re truthful.

Personally, as long as the game is going through regular patches, and the mod community is getting up to speed with this new platform (probably when the SDK is more fleshed out and not receiving bi-weekly patches anymore), I’m actively avoiding mods as much as possible for now. Once the Sim has matured a bit, and the modding community is comfortable and has everything under control, I’ll consider mods again.

Seems to work well, since I don’t seem to run into any problems with this patch.

ok give me 10 mins to do all this.
