There are a few things I’m looking at that aren’t available in Marketplace.
I bought from Simmarket a some time ago, but recently saw some discussion about avoiding it for reasons I don’t remember. I’ve downloaded from flightsim.to but haven’t purchased from them.
Any thoughts on these?
I’m located in the US if that matters.

Not sure what is wrong with simMarket. Been buying addons from there since 2009 without issues.
Having to use their app is annoying plus for uk buyers their prices are high…justflight for me every time.
I find their app ok, certainly no worse than orbx for example, plus it does make it pretty straightforward to find updates and downloads
Yeah, I never had issues either, but haven’t purchased there in about 5 years. Something I read yesterday said you had to install their app.
However… I just used it, and didn’t need to install anything.
Some addons require the usage of their app.
Out of those i only get update emails from JustFlight.
I believe the controversy was simmarket updating their terms of service to say they owned anything uploaded there for sale. Something like that.
Unfortunately you just can’t practically do that without missing out on some planes. The fact is there is no one stop shop which is annoying. I don’t blame the devs though. How a third party store can justify 30% after all the work the dev puts in is baffling to me. I’m surprised more add-ons are not devs website only. I generally go direct if it’s an option. Sim market have been ok for me too when I’ve used them.
I’ve used SimMarket over the years without issue, but I’m not a fan of having to use apps to buy / download addons. For that reason I no longer use them, just as I don’t use Orbx. Justflight have always been consistently superb, and I can’t fault them.
i have buy all the Taog helis from fs.to,so far no need for a app,all went well. Simmarket force to use there app now,so since this i have no more buy there.i have only buy one addon(before they change to the app) from them since 2020,now i need this app to update this 
I’ve never had a problem with Sim Market either. Been using them since FS 2004 days.
Just downloaded the latest version of Taog’s Huey from Flightsim.to, having been notified of the update by email earlier this afternoon. Not the first time they’ve sent me an update notification.
So given that Flightsim.to do send (me at any rate) update notifications, could there be a problem with the email address you’ve given them?
Ahh. Could be. I may have used an old anti spam email. Tbh can’t even remember what I bought from them 
I buy everywhere, just not on fs.to. Im still not confident in that site. Also its very bad when it comes to overview and the search function is absolute trash.
All of the stores are fine in my experience.
I’d add Contrail to the mix. They’re newer, but they have some great features others lack, such as ability to transfer purchases from other stores, ability to install to specific folders (great if you use Addons Linker), and best of all an updater that looks at the version you have installed and tells you if there’s newer version.
Contrail is great and thd guy behind it too 
100% on every aspect of that. TAOG’s do themselves no favours being exclusive with them.
Don’t like the linking lots of stores to one thing that Contrail has. If something goes bad you could lose everything. Just saying.
