I don’t know if this has been addressed in the forum, but is there any way to bypass this patch. This patch is forced with no option to bypass and I don’t want any part of it based on all the negative feedback.
No. Mileage varies with the patch; some people will not experience any issues. Other people will have to be patient while an understaffed development team works on fixing it.
no. there is not.
The way they deploy it I do not see a way to bypass a update or go back one step if a update is bad. So what I do is if a update breaks things, I just go back to P3D v5 and wait for the next one.
This program is only been out a month and I do agree maybe them spending more time in a beta program would have helped. It should get better over time and when 3rd party comes into play with airports and aircraft maybe that will help. No one here may have been around when WIndows first started, it was a mess until 3.1 was out. So in time MSFS 2020 should get better over time. I have reported a few bugs I found and they were fixed while others like KFUL scenery needs to be fixed, which they sent a email back reporting that it was a bug.
Being a web developer, I know the more information and attached files to the root of the problem is important. So I flood them with all I can give them. I know we are not here to fix their software but we live in a age where software is released much faster and more often than the past when we got a update every 18 months, but it usually was solid.
I am pretty happy what they did with MSFS 2020 but there are issues for sure and if we can live with the growing pains, they will pass.
Have a nice day
@aprodigyyy Well that sucks cause based on feedback it is disaster.
@Zachry8600 Well since I am forced to download I guess I will take a chance and see what happens. This sim was ok for me. Lots of bugs but many work arounds. I do hear of many simmer having zero problems so I guess I will have to play a while and see.
I have not had any real issues that stopped me. but I am flying the more simple planes, DA 40 62 Beechcraft 58
I would love to get rid of this patch and go back to the previous one.
I’ve had numerous issues, which I won’t detail as they are all known ones. But I am currently in a 2hr flight expected to take 3+ in the Neo and so far nothing has gone wrong. I’m quite surprised considering my multitude of issues previously.
Other than a bit of manual throttling and the missing navlog info, it’s been quite an uneventful flight. But overall, I do wish I could revert. I think Asobo should roll it back, fix the major plane issues, then push it back out in a week or so.
As it is we’re probably stuck this way for a couple of weeks now.
it’s not.
there are players reporting the same bugs, even new bugs and there are otheres reporting the same, close to none and even a better performance after patch #2.
the state of this game is difficult, to say the least.
@mohegan13 good luck with the flight and report a post flight briefing
@RadiatedFan5468 UI agree the deployment of this patch was horrible. Forced and with many issues. Well I guess we just have to wait and have patience.
@RadiatedFan5468 I flew mostly the A320 but if it gives me problems I will learn some of the more simple aircraft. I am downloading the patch now and will trouble shoot and see.
Pretty much went without incident.
One issue I did have midflight is that the spd/mach button broke and I was stuck with mach numbers all through decent and landing. I had to use the speed bug on the screen to monitor speed.
Again during approach I had to take control of the speed because the AP decided to randomly increase the throttle.
Every thing else went smoothly. Used AP/ILS for landing until 500ft then finished manually from there. This is my first long distant flight iI have had since the patch with no major issues.
@mohegan13 I had the same issues. The primary flight display went out on descent and the speed/Mach got stuck on mach. Nav radio was in and out. All these worked before the patch. I will keep trouble shooting
Well I got a short flight in to trouble shoot the patch. All my observations is on par with all the complaints and grievances on the forum. A320 from KCLT to KMCO. First thing was i couldn’t get IFR clearance to my destination. Restarted the flight and it was okay. Everything was good then I noticed The Nav Log didn’t have the data. Was I got my flight plan and verified I couldn’t load the constraints. Took off with no issues. Eng 1 didnt cut off cause I kept the APU on. During flight the Nav radios were off/on. During descent the mach/knts got stuck in Mach mode and to top it off the primary flight display cut out during descent. AI is still broke. What a cluster. All these items work before the patch. How in the world could you release a patch to make everything worse.
How can a patch do so much damage. We really need optional updates and not forced updates. I wonder if the A320 is the real problem here. I hope the 3rd party developers can create aircraft that work much better than the default ones.
@RadiatedFan5468 Hmm I wondered the same thing. I have only flown the A320 and never had a real issue until the update. I attempted the B787 once and it was a disaster. I couldn’t get off the ground before the game froze and crashed to the desk top. Most of what I am reading is that the patch affected the airliners. I think it is time to start learning some of the smaller non jetliner type of aircraft. And YES no more forced downloads. We should have to option to opt out of these downloads or have the option to revert to pre-patch settings. If we can have the opt out option we can see what the issues are and then decide if it is worth downloading.
A completely stand-alone program can be patched (or not patched) the end user’s option.
MSFS is different because it is not a stand-alone program. It depends on a continuous stream of data fed to it in real time from remote servers. It also continuously sends data to the servers. For that reason it is probably quite important that all end users be running the same version - especially if the contents of the data stream coming from the servers changes from one version to the next.
geez, i wish my spanish would be better.
