Description of the issue:
I can only give the 172 as an example as thats the only aircraft Ive flown the most and noticed that the nav and strobe lights are not working or are so dim its hard to notice them, same can be said for the beacon light but I can just make that out.
If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
Cessna 172
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? All the time (free flight)
Platform: Xbox Series X
I did try searching but its difficult with the number of bug threads, if there is a thread on this already can a mod merge it please.
Thank you

REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.
I haven’t been on my xbox for a few weeks, but from what I remember it was during the day, the lights were not working.
Landing light was fine.
Also I didn’t test enough aircraft as mainly only been flying the c172, but It may have possibly effected other aircraft as well.
Both, the lights are more visible at night but the landing or taxiing lights fail to light up a dark runway at all. There seems to be two issues, lights are generally dim, larger issue is that at night taxi and landing lights don’t light up the runway at all. Works fine in 2020 is a new behavior in 2024.
I have tested both C172 Basic & G1000 in msfs-2024 but don’t have any issue at night with both landing & taxi lights. They light up as expected. Any specific steps, liveries to try to reproduce ?. Also have you disabled your addons ?
Lights show up, though they are very low intensity in day, with a lot of sun you have to zoom external view in to see them. Bigger issue is that the taxi or landing light show as on at night but don’t illuminate the runway or taxiway in any way. The whole exterior aircraft lighting model is inferior to MSFS2020 which I have flown for year without this issue.
The classic 172 is one of the few planes that I’ve flown where the taxi and landing lights actually do illuminate the runway at night. Are you flying the G1000 version? I haven’t tried that one at night.
C172 G1000 seems to be working fine now. C182T from Carenado does not work which I streamed from my purchases in MSFS2020. Here is s screenshot showing the lights on and one showing they show no light projection onto the runway.
I can report to Carenado, but my issues is they show as a partner on the opening splash pages, and this was allowed to be streamed in MSFS2024 after being purchased and working perfectly in MSFS2020. Something appears to have change in the environment the developers are interacting with if this now no longer works.
From my experience in the tech industry, when you do a major rev of a product with third party addons or customizations, you either have the partners recertify for the new version, or you ensure backwards compatibility. At a minimum I’d have engineering check if this change in behavior is expected or not.
If it is expected then partners should have the documentation to recertify to the new SW version, with this status being shown in the marketplace. If this is not expected then a service note can go out to partners to alert them of an issue they many need to fix.
I’m happy to open this as a new bug on this forum too if there is a need to address these release cycle issues. I have also seen issues with how the flight plan loads in the C182T, so clearly there are a lot of changes here. Maybe items should be held back from being streamed until upgraded or these types of issues fixed, it shouldn’t all be on the customers to find them.
