I am an enthusiast of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and greatly appreciate the realism and immersion that this game offers. However, I have noticed an increasing trend of third-party developers introducing advertisements within the game.
I find this inappropriate and disruptive to the gaming experience. A flight simulator is not the place for commercial advertising. It detracts from the immersion and quality of the game that we all love.
I am therefore calling on Microsoft and Asobo to take radical measures to prevent this practice. We, as a community, need to unite and voice our discontent with this trend.
I invite you all to share your thoughts and experiences on this matter. Together, we can make a difference and preserve the integrity of our beloved flight simulator.
Iāve upvoted but the best way to deal with ārogueā developers is not to buy/use their products. Report it to MS via the Vdesk system and also to Flightsim.to if that is where you got it from. MODS - any comment? Sure it must break some rules somewhere.
Is this something new? Iām on MSFS every day and Iāve never seen anything like this. Does if only happen if youāre at the airport which the developer is also releasing? I donāt mind the ad we sometimes get on the world map that lets us know there is a new model of the airport weāre choosing; however, this intrusive advertising is terrible.
This only happens if you have an addon installed from such a developer, say you bought airport X and this addon then contains advertisments for their other airports y and z.
So best way is to NOT BUY addons from such shady devolpers - placing advertisments in such a manor is an ABSOLUTE NO GO!!
Lolā¦ now this is the type of advertising that makes me go running the other way.

To be honest, I have never seen that any good could come from any of these pop up intrusive ads anyway popular though they are. Why would you buy something which forces itself unwanted on you whilst you were focused on doing something else? It definitely doesnāt have a positive effect on me anyway. They are just extremely annoying and just put the product in a bad light imo. Personally I just ignore them or switch off the stream.
Best way of dealing with it is not to buy from any devs that do it. Vote with the wallet.
This is hideous, if you are that desperate, may be try to be creative with the ad instead of ruining the scenery. I can get onboard with a tastefully placed ad, may be a display board inside a terminal or an actual banner in an airport, but this right on your face thing is just lazy and inappropriate.
FSDG are certainly not rogue developers though this kind of advertising is utterly deplorable
How would the developer inject this unless in new version of current scenery?
I donāt think there needs to be a rule. Just publicize when you encounter it. Make sure a review states it clearly. This is easily solved in the āfreeā market.
