I had this issue for a short time yesterday but it managed to resolve itself.
And for those who think it will be better with xBox App, forget it. Also there the sme issue.
I am writing to this old ticket because of people coming here from Google to fix there problem.
What fixed it for me my son pointed out to me in the Xbox game bar → social block that Xbox think I am playing Microsoft flight sim. So from what I know if you are already playing a game on another computer on the same account the games are blocked until the other computer close the game.
So the fix for me was to reboot my pc. Verified that Xbox stopped thinking I am playing Microsoft flight sim. In Xbox game bar → Social block it said online. Then when I started Microsoft flight sim it worked.
Side Note: If above don’t fix the problem my windows account was a standard user on the pc. I changed it to admin user then the proper accept messages come up.
Microsoft flight sim can you please put in a proper message.
Thanks
Well whatever the workaround is, shouldn´t such an essential bug be resolved within the next update? And guess what did not happen? The issue is still there! What are the folks at Microsoft doing? I must say after one year there is still no real efforts to bring this game halway going. Very disapointing Microsoft. nd I would not be astonished if 2022 new FS will come and we have to pay for what we should already have today. We will see.
Guys, I had this issue when trying to just launch flight simulator, and I just managed to resolve it, I managed to get in once at least! In xbox app I selected my version specifically that I have (premium deluxe) from the dropdown and then clicked on ‘play’ and it let me in. Could it be that when we are encountering this issue we are attempting to launch the wrong version?
I thought the same Re launching the specific version but it turns out that does not 100% work for me
Just an update. I had this problem again. So this time I investigated further.
My testing revolve around pc and microsoft accounts. Because Flight sim was not installed on the pc account the flight sim was bought on. And my updates were not cumming. So I added a pc account with the microsoft account that own Microflight sim. Thats where this problem started.
So after my previous post I again had the problem. So this is what I found what I think solved it.
Hope my steps above make sense. And hopefully after all this problems I will receive my Microsoft flight sim updates. A life of uninstalling and installing flight sim is not ideal.
Thanks all
It is sad that after all this time, such a bug, preventing to access a software you paid for, is still not solved
. I first encountered the “Press any button to start” syndrome after SU5 i believe, not just after but some time later. So I suspected this was due to some obscure windows update. There is a second windows account on my computer and the problem arose when this second account was used.
When launcing MSFS I was greeted by the “Press any button to start” screen, I pressed a key, the xbox app screen showed, where I was already logged in and the loop continued indefinitely.
The workaround was to log out of MS Store, reboot, log in MS Store and then I could access MSFS again normally … until the second account was used.
Trying to google my way out of this, I stumbled upon this :
Please Microsoft, put your things together, the installation and log-in process for MSFS is a mess I have never witnessed before. Not surprisingly MSFS is the first ( and last ) product I bought on MS Store
.
Well, well well, the previous workaround did not last long, the “Press any button to start” screen of death is back ![]()
