Can somebody list the AI traffic addon programs for MSFS?

Hello,

I am new to MSFS, can somebody list the AI aircraft addon programs that are out there? I cannot find an overview on the internet. I used to have Traffic Global in X-plane, I liked that addon.

What are the options out there, for good AI traffic? Payware and freeware? I would like commercial and GA aircraft, but they do not have to be combined perse in 1 addon program. But would be convenient of course. Traffic Global also had both aircraft traffic types combined.

I’d recommend FSLTL available here.

I disable the in sim traffic and use this. Its free, regularly updated, and uses Flightradar24 as its traffic source. Crucially for me, once its installed, the only thing I do is start it (once I’m at the stand or gate in my own aircraft. There are others available which are also well thought of, but I like that FSLTL is easy to launch and fairly robust. Best of all, if you don’t like it, you simply uninstall it, as it costs nothing.

“The team behind it also develope the FBW Airbus.” - that is not correct, they use the same installer..the FBW team doesn’t make the addon (the models, etc).

I recommend AIG -much more comprehensive (more models, more liveries, etc.) but some people have issues with the installer (it isn’t as simple as using the FBW installer used by FSLT)

Thank you for the good suggestions. As I am trying to compile al list of these addons, I now list:

  • FSLTL (freeware)
  • AIG (freeware)
  • Standard MSFS AI traffic (included)

And then you have FS traffic (payware)

Are there more AI Traffic addons there? Or it this it?

Don’t forget Beyond ATC. They added AI traffic fairly recently. No GA / VFR flights yet but it’s on their roadmap.

Also consider if you want live traffic or scheduled traffic. With live traffic you can end up with empty skies if you are flying at the “wrong“ place and time.

This is what I use, along with FSLTL, AIG, and GAMod (GAMod is for GA traffic at airports).

Oh does GAMod play nicely with BATC? Any tricks to get them working at the same time? Obviously BATC controllers aren’t going to be aware of the GA aircraft, but it would add some life to smaller airstrips which I’ve been missing when flying with BATC.

This is what I’ve done - I hope it works for you (but as info, I’m using FS24 now):

  1. Install AIG (all models, and yes, it will take time)
  2. Install FSLTL
  3. Install GAMod
  4. If you plan to use ATC at all, purchase Beyond ATC - I tried FS24’s ATC and let’s just say that its reputation is well deserved.
  5. GAMod will spawn models itself (if you install it correctly, you don’t have to do anything to make it kick in).
  6. In FS24, set Settings/Online/Aircraft Traffic Type to OFF
  7. In FS24, set Settings/Graphics/Traffic Airport Quality to OFF
  8. In FS24, set Settings/Graphics/Air Traffic to OFF
  9. Start Beyond ATC and it will spawn the commercial traffic for you, if you’ve turned on that option in Settings.

I was using just FSLTL, but I noticed there were quite a few pink planes. After I installed AIG, those went away. If you don’t purchase Beyond ATC, you should still be able to start the FSLTL injector and have it populate commercial airliners. I’d just advise you to get Beyond ATC if you plan to use ATC. Otherwise, you can try it without BATC and see if it’s good for you.

There may be easier or different ways to make this work, but this gives me both commercial airliners and small planes as well. No more of those hideous idiotic two-tone generic planes from MS. Best of luck!

I think BATC is superb BTW - it’s literally a game-changer! Adding GAMod into the mix should be fun, downloading it now…

As info, I started getting a lot of pink planes, specifically 172, BE36 and others. I tried everything and finally gave up and went for the nuclear option and just deleted everything in the FSLTL folder with the FSLTL_Asobo prefix. So now instead of displaying a pink aircraft, nothing is displayed in its place. To me that’s better than pink planes which drive me crazy.

Does anybody use Just Flight Real Traffic? If so, do you struggle with having not enough air traffic?

I use PSXT + RealTraffic using AIG & FSTL models and liveries. Traffic is in real time.

Which one has the least impact of FS2020 loading time? I use FSLTL but it adds 2 minutes to loading time in 2020. Has no impact on 2024.

I wonder if there is any AI Traffic add-on or ATC add-on for XBox MSFS 2020… does anybody know of any tool that is already released or in development?
