Can we have a positive day please?

Really enjoyed the Carter Family

Maybe not 100s, but a very extensive list of fixes came with the last Sim Update 2

1000% AGREE! There are so many whiners in this forum that I have seriously considered not even coming back to it anymore. That’s very sad because there is a lot of very interesting and informative content. But trying to find that content with all of the whining is getting harder and harder.

This flight sim has enormous complexity and what Asobo has pulled off is remarkable. There is nothing like this sim in the market now. Nothing even close. I am a big DCS fan but, outside of pure air combat and the amazing way that sim has modeled that, it is hard to fly with its scenery compared to MSFS 2020.

Come on people. Try to recognize the monumental achievement that Asobo has accomplished.

Honestly don’t miss this.

I’m off on Wednesdays, have done the housework (some corners may have been cut) and now I have 5 hours of simming ahead. What could be better?

Yeah it’s amateur hour here, from the way they roll out updates to their quality control.

No, not “amateur” in my perception; amateurs won’t create such a complex program with so stunning sceneries. But the forum is full of odd and weird problems again, like after every update. So, everything is quite normal; well, ok, except “polishing” for another week; anything went wrong with a part of that polishing … it happens …

It took me some hours to download the mandatory update - not interested in the World Update -, and to check all my self created addons. As of now, there is only the Manual Cache issue, we obviously all are affected of; no further damage caused to me by the update.

After an update is before an update …

Sadly, without being negative for the sake of it, the day hasn’t transpired as well as Asobo will have been hoping for sure. We are nearly 24 hours in and now have a global disconnection so nobody can actually fly properly nor can they see the full beauty of cities like London using PG. because of the server side problems, London looks like a post-apocalypse film set. But these are just issues and they are working on getting it sorted. Some people have compared this update with the US II update but that is a false comparison. First of all we are downloading from transatlantic servers and since the success of the US updates, many more people have joined the FS users community and it has overwhelmed the system for a while. It will get sorted and when it is, we are going to be able to enjoy all their hard work… I hope

The servers came back on like 2 hours ago…

Please don’t dictate what feelings PAYING CONSUMERS should have.
This whole “sugarcoated positivity lets not be to critical with devs” encouragement is getting quite old and annoying.
At the end of the day…we are overly observative, sometimes overly obsessive and critical flight simmers.
No one has to curve this behavior after 25 years because this new community finds it to be “too mean” at times. Respect all consumer’s feelings with products they paid for with their hard earned money.
If someone is having a “bash MSFS/Asobo Day” then freakin let them.

Just curious… are you seriously trolling this thread???

No one in this thread has tried to “dictate what feelings PAYING CONSUMERS should have”.

And for the record, my update yesterday went as flawlessly as ALL the past updates have.

Every time I see a post like this, I’m reminded of the great philosopher Rodney King

With a nick like MouthyGrunt97, I wouldn’t be surprised…

Pretty much

Judging by what LAPD did to him, I am gonna say apparently no.

First you ask the folks here:

and then:

and now guess, how that feels on my side …

I don’t like to see the world through some pair of pink glasses, which is just an illusion of a view, and I don’t like to be branded as a negative guy, which happened several times here. I prefer to see world as it is; negative / neutral / positive!

Spot on!

I am positive that the hiccups in the rollout of this update ■■■■■■ off a lot of folks.

Is that positive enough for this thread?

:innocent:

No I think that’s a false positive!

everybody has their own take on the new update.
overall for me things have improved.
I was concerned about losing ground over what I had performance wise but I can say without a doubt
that there has been a solid improvement in frame rate averages and smoothness on my setup.
That said - there was an issue with ‘icing’ for the first time - it just killed my FPS in the Carenado Seneca. Also icing seems to be happening more often…of course - it IS winter in the Northern Hemi.
Couple of things I noticed that were not great, the procedurally generated ‘trees’ were suddenly being generated too close to the airplane and too suddenly. It seemed that maybe something on the server side had slowed down dramatically…? and the other is that activating the ATC window will still occasionally cause loss of joystick functionality. The window gets ‘stuck’ either opening or closing and I have to tap the ‘tab’ key to unstick it. I have opened a ticket on this weeks ago but got the canned response to it.
On another positive note - I have spent today some time calibrating my joystick using the MSFS ‘sensitivity’ settings and have solved a ton of issues related to aircraft handling. No more rubberband rudder, no more twitchy takeoffs, no more squirrelly taxiing problems. Not perfect by any means but I think ASOBO added the new features as a stop gap for folks to mitigate some of the more frustrating flaws in aircraft handling we’ve seen.
I have a question: How many here plan to buy the Xbox version and compare performance side by side with their PC ?
I imagine youtubers will be having a field day.
