Observation of the message log in the ATC window shows that ATC is still working and communications between ATC, your aircraft, and other AI traffic is continuing correctly, the thing that is broken is the text to speech engine (TTS) or the connection between ATC and TTS.
Of course it’s the first thing I did and it improves things but not a “bullet proof” solution… Atc speech is lost even when fsltl traffic is on 20-30%
It is always a toss of the coin whether it works or not regardless of what we try to do to circumvent the problem.
Lost again today flying my twin otter. Literally 10 minutes after takeoff. Very little traffic in the area. Can’t hear ATC instructions, can respond. Can’t hear other AI aircraft. Lame, as usual. How long has this been “bug-logged”???
bug-logged does not mean they are going to do anything about it any time soon, or ever…
It just means “yeah we know”
From the email confirmation of the bug report I submitted last week: https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/requests/195462

Tag: Fixed-on-live
The issue previously reported is now fixed on the current version of the simulator.
It’s in a database gathering dust then.
There is no precise definition of how long the word future means but scientist currently estimate the Universe could end as soon as 22 billion years in the future, so quite a way to go
Once again another day without ATC. ATC went down 15 minutes into a 3 hour flight.
Now with the upcoming release of 2024 they will have no intention of fixing this issue. They will be far to busy trying to fix the bugs in 2024.
Ah, but our sun will die within the next 2-3 billion years, so in no time at all.
Will be living on another planet before then still complaining about bugs in the latest version of MSFS and wondering if ATC audio will ever get fixed.
This is still an issue. Still no fix?
Just had the most ridiculous ATC experience ever…
Hawaii area, flying the PMDG DC-6… Lihue to Maui.
All is good for the first 100nm.
Somewhere near Oahu, I lost the ATC voice. But I can still hear my co-pilot repeat instructions.
Half-way from Oahu to Lanai, I lost all voices. So now I have to keep the ATC window open and monitor instructions. I tried switching to Com 2 and back to no avail.
Almost directly over Lanai, I am given clearance to land, runway 2. What the fudge?? I’m over 30 miles away from Kahului. Why are you clearing me to land?
Seriously, MS/Asobo. What have you sold us? Is it your servers? Maybe my hardware? What???
How am I supposed to give any consideration to MS2024 when this is what you are giving us. Argh.
It has crapped out on all of my latest flights. At least the last 5 - 6. Definitely getting worse for me. “What have you sold us?” They have sold us a defective product.
Make that 7 flights. Just failed yet again! 50 minutes into flight. Yeah, FS2024 pfft! Like I’m gonna spend a cent on that. Probably start looking at other platforms.
This weekend did 4 flights, atc failed in all 4… All of them less than 1 hour each.
Seems it’s getting worse…
Because priorities.
You see… we have a little problem… more people are concerned about trees, fluffiness of clouds, and twinkliness of stars than about the basics of aviation. So priorities.
That seems so true. There appears to be more interest in what the world looks like outside the flight deck window than piloting the aircraft. And if a large percentage of sales are arcade pilots, MS will feed that audience. But in this particular ATC problem, Asobo have washed their hands of it. That should be a concern for all of us who see the aircraft as the star of this franchise, not the view of the earth.
Yeah, that happens a lot to me as well. I have the AI ATC Co pilot responding over the ATC sometimes and sometimes when the ATC mentions something it isn’t heard the co pilot responds.
Our saviour is coming from the land of third party developers… as usual:
Same with me again. Total loss of ATC 35 mins into a 6 hour flight.
Though it’s nice to see that the devs are pumping out pointless new features, like the one that was released today. Target, try and land a plane on top of a building in Dubai. Instead of trying to fix what’s broken!
It seems that they are slowly converting the sim into a arcade game. I think they are weaning us in to the 2024 format?
