I can’t create an IFR plan with EFB flight planner. Also the Find Route do not work for me. The planner web site has an option to choose weather the flight is EFB or not but I can’t figure it out in EFB.
I have read the information here Electronic-Flight-Bag-EFB-introduction and watched several youtube tutorials. They can make it but I can’t. The botton is simply do not respond and I can only see VFR or Direct precedures. Though I have set the flight rule as IFR on the second page of EFB.
Create a IFR flight plan and file it with ATC before you click FLY, while still on World Map screen. Also don’t move your plane to a different gate/ramp after you create a flight plan.
In EFB Flight Planner, while departure Airport is KBOS and Arrival Airport is selected as EGLL. I press the “Find Route” button. This is not bringing any routes. The departure precedure is auto selected as VFR. I try to change the procedure but there is only Direct and VFR procedures. But on the Flight Details tab IFR is selected as the Flight Rules.
There is no issue in online planner. It is working for me. But in game EFB it is not. In your screen shot, I see that Departure Precedure is empty but in my case it is default VFR and I cant change it to IFR. I can only change is to “Direct” but that does not help either and the Find Route button do nothing.
Yes I see. What is ok for you is not working for me. I have just seen another topic some felows also complaining about Find Route not working for them too.
I only select the Departure and Arrival airport and press the Find Route. I do not select Direct or VFR anywhere. The image I shared above is for information purpose as I can only see those options while in your image you see many presedures which is missing for me other than VFR.
Yes, I can make an IFR flight plan in the Online Version of MSFS2024 EFB Flight Planner and save the flight plan with the desired RNAV approach. But, in the simulator, when I retrieve the saved IFR flight plan in the EFB, it translates it into a VFR Direct Route flight plan with no options available to change it to an IFR plan. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
While this in no way helps you with this current issue, it may be helpful to understand:
The in-sim EFB’s “route finding” code is not the same as the web-based flight planner’s route finding code.
Personally, I find this insane, but I that is currently how it is.
I was having issues with route finding and here is what Matt at Working Title had to say:
Wishlist item to have this rectified:
Now, all that aside, three days ago I had a very strange issue with the in-sim navdata. Where I could not get the EFB to locate several known-good VOR here in California:
I have two PCs and both were behaving the same way when I tried to make this simple IFR plan via the in-sim EFB. I had no issue with the web-based flight planner.
Anyhow, I spent a bit of time with Working Title on their Discord and they had me check which version of the navdata I had installed and we verified it was correct. We left it with them saying they would look into it.
I went to bed, woke up the next day, fired up the sim and what do you know the in-sim EFB suddenly could find the VOR, the Honeywell Primus Epic 2 in the Seastar could also find the VOR and everything was normal.
I see the posts on this thread are a day old, so I’m curious, now that a day has passed, is the EFB working for you now?
By any chance did you copy your Navigraph folder(s) from 2020 Community to 2024 Community? It sounds like your navdata is not loading and this is almost always the reason.
If so, you must delete your Navigraph folders and install Navigraph via their installer program, as it does other sim configuration that allows the navdata to load.
