Can't make an IFR plan with EFB Flight Planner

While this in no way helps you with this current issue, it may be helpful to understand:

The in-sim EFB’s “route finding” code is not the same as the web-based flight planner’s route finding code.

Personally, I find this insane, but I that is currently how it is.

I was having issues with route finding and here is what Matt at Working Title had to say:

The in-sim EFB uses the sim’s built-in auto-routing faculties, which we did not code, we just call the API for them (the same ones that create routes for you on the 2020 world map, though I understand there have been some improvements added). So unfortunately we would not be of any direct assistance on that one.

Wishlist item to have this rectified:

Replace In-Sim Flight Planning Logic to be the Same as Working Title Web-Based Flight Planning Logic

Please replace the in-sim flight planning logic to utilize the same flight planning logic that Working Title has developed for the web-based flight planner. It is highly confusing, and odd, that we have two different logics for flight planning and the in-sim version is vastly inferior to that of the new logic developed by Working Title. Now, all that aside, three days ago I had a very strange issue with the in-sim navdata. Where I could not get the EFB to locate several known-good VOR here in California:

Sitting in the cockpit of the Seastar, I tried to enter the following flight plan into the Epic 2: KSNS/31 > Dep CHLN3 > PRB > MQO > GLJ > GVO > ILS 07 via GVO > KSBA/07 PRB, MQO, GLJ & GVO are all active VOR here in CA. I have two PCs and both were behaving the same way when I tried to make this simple IFR plan via the in-sim EFB. I had no issue with the web-based flight planner.

Anyhow, I spent a bit of time with Working Title on their Discord and they had me check which version of the navdata I had installed and we verified it was correct. We left it with them saying they would look into it.

I went to bed, woke up the next day, fired up the sim and what do you know the in-sim EFB suddenly could find the VOR, the Honeywell Primus Epic 2 in the Seastar could also find the VOR and everything was normal.

I see the posts on this thread are a day old, so I’m curious, now that a day has passed, is the EFB working for you now?
