Just to mention that I am experiencing the same problem.
It’s intermittent. Sometimes the flight loads, sometimes the identical flight gives me the endless spinning circle.
I didn’t experience this before SU1 and agree it needs a swift fix!

The same problem here.I start the mission in freelance career, it seems to be loading the flight plan and after a few moments I get a freeze of the sim , solvable only by closing from task manager.It seems apparently that it can’t load such a long flight plan because I noticed that the problem occurs practically always in missions longer than 500nm , especially in medium cargo , medevac and airline pilot missions . I have already tried all kinds of suggestions to solve it but nothing has any effect . The problem occurred after the last sim update. Previously it was working even on the beta version.

Lowering the TLOD = Less data required from server to start flight. Asobo/Microsoft changed something on the backend with server load balancing because, bandwidth. This is why zooming in then back out works sometimes, but the real workaround is TLOD below 100 and then load in. If you demand XYZ from the server and it’s not capable, it’s just going to ignore your request, hence the infinite loop. It’s all the streaming stuff folks. They do not have the capability to stream to everyone that uses the platform, so you are often screwed during high demand times. Want to test my theory? Open up task manager and watch your upload and download parameters after clicking fly now. You’ll see a sudden surge of data request/transfers, then it just drops to 800kb and stays there. The sim is waiting on the data from the server which never comes.
Could it be possible that this is related to the End-of-Flight-CTD issue that has been seen lately (when hitting “End Flight” on the zoom-out to the map FS freezes or crashes)?
Might be a coincidence, but for me both issues started exactly at the same time a few days back without changing anything to the Sim.
Maybe FS tries to fetch again massive data from the backend and in the End-of-Flight scenario it does not loop but crash. Just a thought…

ISSUE DESCRIPTION
After setting up the flight on the world map, clicking to begin the flight will initially start the zooming into the airport but pauses and the progress spinner spins indefinitely - this seems to only happen when graphics preset is on “ultra”.
If I escape back to the World Map (which happens instantly with no complaints), and go in the settings and change the graphics preset to High End or lower, and attempt to start the flight again, the flight will load as expected. Once the aircraft is all loaded and waiting on the runway I can change the graphics preset back to Ultra and it works perfectly.
Very high end spec PC with RTX4090 and no issues once in game running with all settings maxed out. Just seems to be some issue when coming off the world map.
[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes makes no difference.

REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
- Have graphics settings to max
- Load a flight in any aircraft (but seems to be more likely to happen with complex aircraft at complex airports)
- Click start flight and see if it will hang for a very very long time. See if escaping back to map and changing graphics preset to a lower one will solve the hang even if settings can be improved again once loaded.

• I’ ve found that’s there’s no need to reduce graphics, just press Start Flight from a “higher altitude”, then it loads normally.

Have tried loading into KLAX 5 times and still just spins. What a mess. The workarounds do not work.
Loaded up here but took a bit longer than normal.

Has this the first time since sim update 2 beta. I now have left the beta tests waiting for fixes.
I’ve had this happen several times with SU2 beta, including with KPDX and KSEA.

I’ll take your word for it, lol. I’m off beta for a bit; got super annoyed last week when it reset/re-installed my sim. Glad that it’s been addressed, though!

Im on beta, still have the same issue with live weather on
it seems the bug is not fixed with SU 2 Beta 1.4.9.0 - cannot start a flight with the Leonardo Maddog 82, 83 and 88!

I’m on SU2 Beta and still occasionally get the infinite loading bug. Workarounds do not always work either. It’s still definitely happening and seems to be random

I’m getting it too - intermittent, but it’s been consistent for the last hour or so. Even if I drop the settings to low and the LODs to 10, it still won’t load.
