Can't start MSFS2024 since Hotfix (Error 0xc0000005)

I am reassured to see that I am not the only one
the game is also crashing overnight since yesterday

I can launch msfs 24 but I have the same error in the Asobo error report present in the game folder

I updated nvidia
I reinstalled twice, I even tried on a new hard drive
sometimes I manage to click on FLY and sometimes it crashes first

I specify that I did not modify anything, I quit by clicking on the button after several hours of flights without problem, I turned off the PC, turning it back on and launching msfs 24, I had this bug CTD either once I click on FLY or directly before being able to click on FLY, I have done several tests, by launching a flight in the open sea or on land, it is always the same result

here is the content of the generated AsoboReport-crash file

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• I installed a new GPU (4070 TI Super) and this is when the problem occurred. If I plug my old GPU in, (1080 TI) the game launches just fine. Uninstalled MSI afterburner and related apps and still have the same error code on launch.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Update- I upgraded from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro as a last ditch effort and guess what…MSFS booted up on the first try.

I had this after every update. A reinstall worked for me tho.

Every update that’s come out since launch results in the [(Error 0xc0000005)]. I need to uninstall and completely reinstall the game in order to play. I don’t change anything. so far it’s only wasted a bunch of time and is insanely annoying but we are looking at a lot of updates over the course of the sims life so it would be swell if it didn’t happen

I have the same problem. In fact, I created a case and the only thing they tell me is to downgrade my GPU driver (NVIDIA 3060), which had no effect. I reinstalled dozens of times, also without any result. It seems to me that Microsoft launched a very immature product.

I have the same problem. After every update the launcher crashes with 0xc0000005. A reinstall fixes the problem and everything runs fine until the next update. Very frustrating as each reinstall loses all camera settings and some of the game settings.
As the game generally runs fine, I don’t think this is a hardware issue as suggested in other topics on 0xc0000005 errors.

Hello

I’ve been having this problem since I reinstalled my whole PC, it didn’t happen before.

I have reinstalled MSFS 2024 several times, removed DLSS updates, lowered graphic resolutions, deleted Icloud profiles, emptied Community, reinstalled Visual CC++, updated graphics drivers and Realtek, everything. And sometimes it worked for a while and sometimes it didn’t, sometimes it hung before I could enter the cockpit and sometimes in the flight menus or options.

Reading and reading I discovered that Intel processors of the 13 and 14 series had an overvoltage problem, which in addition to being able to damage the processor caused MSFS to give constant failures. https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/17461954568476-Crashing-with-exception-code-0xc0000005-when-using-Intel-13th-and-14th-gen-CPUs

I have an i9 14900K and so far no problem, the solution I read is that you have to update the BIOS. So I went to the ASUS website, the one for my Rog Strix Z790 E motherboard, and downloaded a BIOS update. I installed it as instructed in my BIOS instruction manual and since then no more problems, MSFS works perfectly.

I’ve done three full flights, installed addons and restarted the simulator several times without any problems.
