Career Mode Employees? Crew On? How does it work?

So I have been plugging away at career mode. I have the Flightseeing company and the Cargo company and a Cessna assigned to each.

When I bought the second plane I got a pop up about having employees fly my other plane. How does this work? I can’t figure it out.

I turned the Crew On option for my Flightseeing company thinking that would do it but I went on an hour plus cargo mission and I can’t see that they other plane did anything. Do I need to accept a mission and somehow assign an employee? If so how or where?

It’s useless to have a flightseeing plane sitting idle while I fly cargo missions, which are my preferred flights. How does this passive income work?

Career Mode could stand to use a little more guidance at points. It also took me forever to figure out where to go to refuel my owned planes.

I second this. I would love to know how to use it - more guide points or a manual one can access regarding features of career mode

Okay, it appears to be truly passive. I took a long break for dinner and TV. I had set the Crew option to ON for my flightseeing plane and when I logged back just a few minutes ago I got a popup that I earned 80K in passive income from 2 flights on my Flightseeing plane and it now is actually located in a different location than where I left it.

So apparently setting the Crew Option to on for the plane is all that is needed. And it is truly passive as it accumulated while I was offline. You still will need to check in occasionally for maintenance.

Just to clarify, when you say you were offline, was the game running?

No. The xbox is set to power off after 1 hour of inactivity so it was in sleep mode for the majority of that time.

I can report back in the morning after I sleep and see if I get more.

Gotcha. I am playing on PC and I wasn’t sure if I should leave the game running at the main menu overnight.

I didn’t, we shall see how it goes.

As for me, the sim was off as I was sleeping - but still no passiv eincome despite both planes having Crew set to “On”

Do you have cargo missions always displayed because I only have 2 on the map?

Same for me. Maybe you have to own more than 1 plane? Maybe 1 is assigned to you in the background?

*just now saw that you said “both”. I only have 1.

There are definitely fewer Cargo missions on the map in comparison to the other mission types but I have always had a few options available.

Can someone help me, I have an x cub in a flightseeing company and set it to crew on and I never get passive income. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Can people list the company types + aircraft that they are actually getting passive income to work?

Do you have a second plane or company? I did not get a message about passive income until I bought my second plane.

Okay, after a couple of days now it looks like passive income is a once every 24 hour thing. I received my first message later in the evening yesterday and my second one later in the evening tonight.

I just bought the Charter business and set my Cargo plane to Crew about 30 minutes ago. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.

Yes I have a second plane. My first plane was an x cub I did flightseeing in. Now I have a 172 I do deliveries in myself and setup the x cub as an employee plane (turned crew on).

It hasn’t been 24 hours though so we’ll see what happens tomorrow I guess.

Buying and flying a tailwheel-type airplane is really risky in career mode. I applaud you for your courage!

I’ve been paid twice from my AI pilots totaling almost 400k (from what it told me I was paid) but I didn’t see a dime in my bank account. I had premium insurance on all my aircraft and I think that the cost of this is more or equal to what your AI make. I’ve never gotten a payout on insurance, I think it’s bugged, so I’ve set my insurance to basic and we’ll see what happens over the next 24 hours.

Are you doing anything specific to get money? When did you get it? I have to C172s but don’t get anything at all

I ask for those who I saw who comment that they have several planes and several companies … if someone can help me, I am level 60 and S reputation, I am missing 3 certifications, I have a 172 and a photo company but I have never had the option available to buy another company and it says there are no planes available to buy … How can I unlock the other companies to be able to buy them? I limit myself only to the photo ones from my company. I have already accumulated 1,000,000 cred by doing only photo missions that pay me 30k to 40k in my company … Does anyone know how I unlock the other planes to buy so that other companies are unlocked? Thanks and greetings to all

and with more than 300 hours in mfs2020 it is very fun and the new career mode is immersive but the interface is terrible and not very intuitive and they don’t put at least a guide that explains all the details… I have the great feeling that the career mode is incomplete, a little more than beta and they left it like that to complete it with updates… and in all the advances of the game they sold us that it was complete, it seems more like a 2020 update.

And another question for those who have already spent quite a few hours in career mode. Do you get night missions? Why do I have airports unlocked on all continents and I have done many missions and none of them have been at night? I have the night flight certification but nothing has appeared at night yet. The latest it appears is at dusk.

I do a variety of small cargo, first flight/flightseeing, and search and rescue. You only get paid once in a 24 hour (real time) period so you may just have to wait a little longer. Also make sure each aircraft has the “crew available” configured to “yes”.
