Hopefully they make it happen it’s just matter of time.

One good feature would be to add mission Filters so you can only see mission type that you’re interested.

That will include day/night duty.

Let’s just wait for now.

If I could just be as positive as you…Have you experienced the pace they did provide fixes for MSFS 2020? Did you recognize that they recently closed more then 100 bug reports for FS2020 with ā€œwon’t fixā€?

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Career mode missions happen at the same time every mission. Around 15:00UTC.

There are no night, evening, morning missions at all.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

Yes, there are no add-ons

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Every time.

Take any career mission, the time of day will always be the same.

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it?

Not using Developer mode.

yes agree, same time day, same day, same season, same missions again and again (maybe 20 missions only per company and still if you are lucky, because sometimes you will have 0 mission loading)

Same problem, not one night mission available yet. (Took the IFR and Night Currency certification long ago)
Is this only for some people or it’s not working for everybody ?

Really shameful on the part of Asobugs…

This proves once again that they have clearly tested NOTHING of their game mode that they are so proud of and that a good majority of players were waiting for.

Once again it’s up to us players to do the Alpha Testers (it’s not even beta testing at this level)

And this will become more and more frequent when we see the excessive indulgence of some people (under the pretext that it’s just a ā€œvideo gameā€)

Imagine that:

you bought a car without brakes and you were told "No but don’t worry we will add them in the next model but you can still drive…but not brake

Would you be so complacent?

Stop apologizing and saying amen to them for not having done their job correctly. It’s ā€œthanksā€ to these people that we have games that are more and more buggy and half-finished/started.

Already FS2020 was not completely finished even after 4 years of updating as mentioned above:

ā€œThey recently closed over 100 bug reports for FS2020 with a ā€˜won’t fix’ mark.ā€

(to force the abandonment of FS20 and the migration to FS24)

and that shocks no one…

• Same issue. The timeslider doesn’t seem to make any impact on weather it is middle of the day or not. Its always mid-day.

When you move back the slider, check if any airport gets a red dot…there you will then be able to start a flight with live weather and from the time at which the slider sits.
I didnt find out what rule is responsible to decide if there is a red dot or not.
If someone has any idea…?

Think it might be that either the departure or destination is under IFR conditions.

Although the sim does seem to get confused about this, so not sure whether it’s actually reliable.

We got a second maintenance patch and the dev stream but still not mentioning of this issue. Career feels so boring right now. I hope we get some clarification what is intended and what is a bug from Asobo.

Thank you for the bug report.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged

Regardless of the time that it says for the mission, even if you catch some of the live (red-dot missions) or rewind the 24h to a ā€œliveā€ mission, once you load in, you’re always going to get the same sun-angle. This results in frankly a kind of boring, static light for all career travel. I also feel like the sun position is impossible for the time of year that it is now in some regions, I think its reverting to a different month entirely

For example, I took a mission in Minnesota (where I’m living now) that was ā€œliveā€ at 15:43 and was going to last past 1630. I’ll tell you right now, the sun is gone at 1630 basically. When I loaded into the mission, the sun was like a 10 or 11am sun. I tried the same with every other kind of flight time with the same result.

Something’s really wonky with the time, and you can see the EFP date time is like always August of 2022 for some reason and maybe that’s related.

I guess you are referring to the issue reported here: EFB Does Not Use Real Time & Date, & Shows Date Back to Years Ago

Yes, I was told to share my thoughts in this thread since the other topic got closed. I posted something similar on reddit a little further back and they suggested to post here.

Agreed–no night missions. I am also confused by the ā€œliveā€ time in career mode. Should this not display only missions that are ā€œliveā€ at the current time? All missions are always daytime, no matter the time setting in 24 hours. I prefer the time work as it does in free flight; I select the time I want to fly, and career mode displays missions available in that approximate time.

Is the live button/time setting only for the weather?

I just took a mission that’s meant to start at 1450 out of northern Spain. I’m flying pretty much level looking straight up as I head North. That’s not where the sun is supposed to be in Spain at 1450 on Dec 13.

You can even look up the sun position and where its supposed to be:

Not to mention my destination is in northern Germany, flying probably for 2.5-3h where it’s supposed to be night by the time I land, and it most definitely was not nighttime.

What this DOES look like is the sun position as if it was August 15th, which is what the EFB says is the date during flight for EVERY mission

It’s like we’re stuck in a timeloop torture chamber reliving August 15th forever with each mission. The weather/wind is from now, but the sun/lighting is ALWAYS the same day.

The devs put so much work into the lighting and this feels like SUCH a small/easy bug to fix. A simple date/time variable is not being passed to the start of the mission from the career interface, and its defaulting to some weird debug time I’m assuming a dev set up and used for years.

Good find.
has anyone tried if it is even possible to fly into the night, anywhere, if you fly long enough?

If you fly for many hours, it DOES go to sunset whenever that would be in August. Unfortunately, that’s very near the summer solstice and most missions are given out between 1000-1400 which means you need to be flying for like at least 6 hours to get to night time. Though I’m sure there’s places in the world away from the equator where that might be quicker.
I got to SORT OF sunset once on a Cessna 208 medium cargo run that was like 600NM with a headwind.
