The Carenado T-34B is out on Marketplace. $22.99 US.
Only had a chance to take a quick look while eating a sandwich for lunch, but first impressions are positive. I have a couple of hours in a real one having flown formation and BFM in a Skywarriors T-34B back in the late 90s, and the cockpit and general handling felt good. All that was missing was my instructor giving me flying tips and advice on how to deal with airsickness!
Carenado, always with the most stunning modeling and photo-realistic texturing, filled with incredible detailing inside and out. The sounds are also great, and the flight characteristics are a dream (I haven’t had time to cross-reference real world numbers, but it is a pure joy to fly).
I will probably pick this up as I always loved this aircraft. The biggest disappointment is that it is only in the marketplace restricting artists from creating their own liveries. This has to be one of the biggest frustrations in this new platform. Why cant the developer just keep offering it on the website for those who wish to do liveries and mods. I really don’t think anyone is benefitting with this new way of doing things.
I have watched reviews and still think the work done on this is outstanding.
Im sure there will be a paint kit availiable at somepoint. Keeping to the MP is also stopping the pirate community getting their thieving mitts on products.
I expect I will be buying this soon. Looks fantastic!
EDIT:
Ok, when I said “soon” I didn’t mean within the hour, but I really couldn’t pass it up. I don’t buy many aircraft for the sim anymore but I had to have this one. It’s nearly everything I love wrapped into one aircraft. Great GA aircraft with autopilot, vintage, warbird, decent speeds, aerobatics, great visuals, great paint scheme options, physics model feels nice. I have a feeling I’ll be flying this one often. In the middle of enjoying my first flight as I type this.
The inability to make repaints is probably the biggest drawback for me, that and the odd price point being just high enough to make me hesitate. I appreciate the variety of liveries that come with it but for a plane with so many fun potential repaints it seems short sighted of Carenado. They haven’t released a paintkit with any other release so I don’t anticipate one for this. A successful product is one that the community can have fun making their own whether it be with repaints, flight model mods, or just being able to edit the manufacturer to Beechcraft vice Carenado in the menu.
I wrote to Carenado support requesting a paintkit or blank livery. (They used to include a blank livery with most planes in the pre-MSFS2020 days.) If more people ask, maybe they’ll consider it.
@Dutchbird88 I’d definitely note the VR camera issue in a support request to Carenado. They aren’t quick with updates, but they do tend to eventually address many issues that users alert them to.
